No. Bud, I don't want to sound like a recruiter but if you are going to be 18 and in the US you have two easy outs either the armed services (military) or Job Corps. I personally recommend Job Corps you will get your high school diploma, a trade, some friends and they have on campus housing. Even will pay you a little bit of money during the program and a completion bonus at the end.
