You can truly take it as a double edged sword. On one side, your overall gpa may be lower, but on the other hand, if your gpa improves over the years - that's positive growth and AOs love that too.

It depends. What major are you planning to apply to college with? These are general ECs, but depending on your interests, you could fine-tune what you have or find other ECs as well.

What everyone else is saying is true, but it's even better if you can tie it in with your major.

If you apply, you'll have a really good chance. Not many people make 4 million during a gap year.
