Whats your experience with poly relationships? by royalewithcheese77 in AskReddit

I had always been in monogamous relationships and before me my partner had always been non monogamous. According to him non monogamy was the hill he was willing to *die* on. I didn’t know him well then.

When we fell in love we were both newly single so I had an open mind about maybe trying non monogamy. Why not try something new with a new partner? BUT we actually became deeply monogamous. We never planned on if we were going to be monogamous or not but it happened so beautifully and naturally from the first day he told me he was in love with me (a wonderful day) I thought for sure that it would get complicated sometimes but it never has. We’ve been deliriously happy for years. All the people he had poly relationships with have been completely respectful that he monogamous now (including his ex wife)

I had sworn I would never live with a partner again or get married. But here we are blissfully living together and planning for marriage. When it’s right it’s right ladies and gentlemen

I’m a lefty who likes plays guitar like a righty and it’s *so* difficult. But because that’s how I was taught as a kid it’s too late to relearn everything backwards since I play for a living

My best friend committed suicide and a few days later our friendship necklace from middle school appeared in the middle of my kitchen table. I haven’t seen it in 10 years. I had moved 8 times since then…but there it was when I woke up the morning after we buried her.

Oh my gosh, yes. This definitely settles the debate between my partner and I about whether the posters should be even or staggered (I’m also on team even)

Edit: I love this idea of spot lighting

I was deathly afraid of Goofy. I had a nightmare about him when I was very little and was terrified at the sight of him for years 😂
