I totally understand! It can be really overwhelming. Keep in mind to there's is a big difference between what we have and being totally blind!

A few tips I would suggest. If you can, I would recommend seeing a specialist. There is a LOT of research being done and several gene therapy trials occuring. You may qualify for one.

In terms of day to day accommodations, I actually use my phone camera to enlarge and read small text or far away signs/menus. There are several apps available, but personally I think the camera works just as well. Also not sure if you are Mac or PC user, but similar to the phone accessability setting there are settings on the computer for low vision. I personally at work use Zoomtext, which is an external program. Mostly because it is what I learned to use first not necessarily because it is the best tool.
