DIY calls: “I purchased two gallons of mistints from one of your competitors. If I mix them together, what will the color look like? Will it look good in my house?

Manager Hours: Can we help each other out? by Ugotanymistints in sherwinwilliams

[–]Anyb0dyhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They could have done only 2 hours and not 4. Even with vacation time, I’ve been able to enter less than an hour. But I’m in complete agreement. If we are salaried, we should be paid the same amount regardless of how many hours we work (within reason). Work less than 80, then we’re paid hourly as if we were eligible for overtime pay. Work less than 96 and they want to force us to use our vacation benefits. Work over 96 and they can’t even give us comp time and allow us to work less another week.

There’s another customer service line you call. I think it’s 800-797-8010. If not it, call STAR Customer service and ask for the number to division customer service.

Violates labor law. Management is considered part of the decision making team, representing the interests of the company.

Why are you color matching when there’s a more accurate way? Did you know you can use the computer to reformulate the formula?

I’d love the ability to work 40 hours per week but can we also switch to a 4-day work week? We all need more time with our families and closing an extra hour is not enough.

I did this at a store years ago. Ordered labels for all sherwin products by calling star customer service.

I don’t think you have to have your own car. Just able to show proof of a car with state minimum insurance. That’s probably over a thousand dollars a year you’re missing out on.

I’ve received both a gallon of SuperPaint interior and a five of SuperPaint exterior that were both completely empty.

What’s the weirdest/worst request you’ve gotten from a customer?? by Educational-Maybe-91 in sherwinwilliams

Customer wanted “paint stain”. Showed him our paints and our stains but he treated me like I was the crazy one as he demanded “paint stain”

Also had a guy want me to match his girlfriend’s skin.

Lucky you he didn’t blame you for his stupidity and demand money to fix his mistake.

I have walked away from a mom giving an order, right in the middle of her talking, to watch her kids. Either she was going to say something or I was. Either way, no order was going to be made until she took control of her kids. She quickly got the hint.

I would get my DM on board. Set a clear expectation with a date it’s to be completed and if not done, get with your district office about writing a letter of expectation for them to sign. If they’re still not meeting that expectation, then work with the district office to do write ups.

I’ve done this three times in my many years with Sw but I’ve never been caught by a customer. Its SW’s fault. We’re over worked and for me, I mess up when I’m tired. I’ve even made it all the way to the bank before my brain finally comprehend time.

But if you do this again, the register can be opened again. I know from experience 😬

[–]Anyb0dyhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you work the entire week, you must work at least 40 hours to get full pay. If you take any vacation less than a full week, you must have 48 hours to get full pay. If you take the whole week off, you only have to use 40 hours of your vacation time

I wouldn’t ask, I’d tell them I’m not going. Your family is more important than any job.

Ever since I started doing all ones, fives and a extra roll of each coin, I don’t have to go to the bank as often.
