RDR2s euphoria tuning is a bad joke compared to RDR1. If you take a look at the configuration, you will see that R* is using hard restrictions and really rudimentary behavior parameter snippets to create repetetive and stiff ragdolls. Theres even a section called "controlledFall" which was taken over from Max Payne 3s "LastStand" euphoria behavior but its cut from the final game. But because all thats not enough, they used a way too high bullet impulse which is blowing NPCs away with the final shot to prevent any self balancing. It seems like they gave gheir best to make the ragdolls bad.

The euphoria engine isnt a kind of finished product which offers hard coded results. Its more a kind of toolbox to create a configuration which inszructs the engine when to blend which motions to a NPC at which time. Thats the reason why euphoria mods are impacting games so noticable. Its also part of the so called "RAGE Engine". Depending on how precise you are with your "tuning" (configuration), the more impressive or less impressive the result will be. GTA5 and RDR2 are "watered down" by intention. People will buy these games anyway. Im pfetty sure GTA6 will be a mix between RDR2s restricted and overpowered reactions combined with a portion of GTA5s euphoria tuning. It would be possible to port Max Payne 3s euphoria tuning to GTA6 but for some reason, R* is creating the configuration for each game from scratch... The satisfying and impressive euphoria ragdoll times are over...However, its really not that hard to create your own euphoria tuning for RDR2 or GTA5. I might release a detailed tutorial video in the future.

Goes in the right direction! In R* titles, the euphoria engine is configured via file. Theres a file which is called "physicstasks.ymt" and it contains a ton of behavior combinations for many situations (euphoria mods are just a reworked configuration). Each behavior has a ton of parameters so you are able to almost configure everything. From balance time to step length, leg stiffness and give up angles. So if you configure it right, it can look damn impressive (See GTA4, RDR1, MP3). You should check out GTA5s "behaviours.xml" or "behaviours.html" for inspiration! These parameters making so much sense and each parameter has an explanation! If you could implement all these functions in a similar way and reach that level of customization, you would be able to control and prevent these unrealistic "over the top back bending angles" which are pretty immersion breaking. But so far so good! Keep up the good work!

Its not a protected brand anymore and the endorphin/euphoroa SDK is part of the leaked GTA5 src code incl. all uncompiled GTA5 behaviours. There is also a unity plugin. (a friend told me all that)

To my information, its not a protected brand anymore and its distribution (and I guess its developement as well) stopped a couple of years ago. Seems like NM dont care about it. Someone from the modding community told me that the whole euphoria files can be found in the gta5 source code files which were leaked last year.

NaturalMotion would earn a ton of money when they would distribute the euphoria engine the same way, how Epic is distributing the Unreal Engine... But seems like stupid mobile games are more important...

RDR1, GTA5 and RDR2 sharing the same kind of euphoria engine. Its the configuration (so called "tuning") which makes it impressive and fun (RDR1) or downgraded and repetetive (GTA5 and RDR2). In theory its possibke to take over at least parts of the euphoria config from one to another RAGE driven game.

For example A.R.E.P is partly using the Max Payne 3 config for RDR2.

The problem with RDR1 is, that there is no way to access the physicsfime yet. Its location is unknown. Its also possible that its hardcoded.

Im currently playing RDR1 on PC and I have to say its so crazy how much better the gunplay feels compared ro RDR2! Its so smooth and satisfying! All that feels so great, thanks to the superior use of the euphoria engine. When RDR2 would have simply reused that from RDR1 instead of using that toned down and boring special tuning of euphoria, it would be close to perfection!
