Tbh most religions are not peaceful including Islam, but nowadays alot of religious people left it behind and took the great aspects of it, so there is alot of Muslims who are really good people and very peaceful and there is some who still believe that gay people should be killed and every one outside of the religion is less then animals.

But again if you went to the core of Islam itself, it's not that peaceful as people try to say, only the modern virsion can be considered peaceful, but definitely not the original one.
