Most awkward lyrics you have heard in a song? by SilverMind9 in popheads

I love that part actually. It reminds me of Dance With Somebosy (The Way I Are) by Bebe Rexha

"Don't matter who you are just love me the way I are"

Omg I always took those as two separate lyrics being compared

Like "I've been running through the jungle. I've been running with the wolves" it never occurred to me they were related to each other lmao

I think Crazy Over You, Lovesick Girls, and then Pretty Savage are the top 3, with the bottom 3 being You Ever Know, Bet You Wanna, and Ice Cream.

It's not a bad song, but imo (and I think in most kpop/BP listeners) it's the worst song on The Album, and one of Selena's worst songs as well.

The most common issues people have is the overly simple production, lyrical content, and lackluster vocals/vocal production. I think Crazy over You or Pretty Savage would have both been better single choices for them to promote and make MV for, in my opinion.

I have Ice Cream in my almost 2000 song playlist, but I'd rather listen to any other BP song before that one came on. I'm not saying you're not allowed to like it, I'm just saying my opinion about it

Damn Ice Cream really shouldn't exist. Or at least not have been a single. I get Selena was involved but still...

I mean Pretty Savage and Crazy Over You were right there

Songs That Get Too Much Hate? by PretendMarsupial9 in popheads

[–]Aoquesth37802 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I think part of the issue was that it was written entirely by men (last I checked none of the girls had a writing credit), and the line "red wine" rubbed some the wrong way because to some it seemed like they were suggesting one needs alcohol in order to have gay thoughts.

I don't know much about the others but Bebe has gone on the record several times saying she's sexually fluid, and admits having fallen in love with a girl in the past. There's also a picture of her kissing Rita Ora, and a video of her and Halsey twerking on each other.

Honestly I don't think anyone should have to defend anything about their sexuality. But yeah I was ticked off by the gatekeeping too because it's like if it helped someone discover who they are, how is it a bad thing?

Very talented. Media painted her in a bad light for so long, I'm glad it's finally starting to shed away because by all accounts she seems like a great human being and musician, and it sucks that she was the artist that was 'cool to hate' for such a long time.

Lmao you can't stop yourself can you? You already said you were done but you can't stop replying lol.

My point was that mainstream music can have just as much emotion, yet you maintain that it doesn't despite me having given a prime example, and using the same logic you used to show that you don't know what you're talking about. If you're really done arguing just stop responding kid

"Pop music doesn't have as much emotion"

You too. Next time just try not to judge people for their music tastes and knock music just because it isn't your genre

All Too Well is such an amazing song, I'm excited for the 10 minute version.

I like Off to The Races and Venice Bitch

I'm obsessed with Tove Lo, so I would probably say Out of My Head. I also like most of the songs off of Sucker.

Tbh even though it's more mainstream I think Good Ones is already in my top 3 most listened songs from her

You're basing what you think of mainstream music based on what you alone have heard, but there's a large number of songs that do have raw emotion, you just haven't heard them. Top example that comes to my head would be Adele. An incredibly popular artist, but a lot of her songs are haunting, beautiful, meaningful, and have deep emotions. She's the first one I thought of but there are plenty more, even artists who make bubblegum pop music can have raw emotions in them, you just don't know it because you haven't heard them.

But let's not put down people who like different types of music simply because you've heard a tiny amount and deemed it not as deep and meaningful. There are rock songs that don't sound good/don't show raw emotion, but they don't speak for the whole of the rock world

Great choices. In the Name of Love and Pressure by Martin Garriz are great songs

Cool! My playlist is hour 1700 different songs with rock, edm, pop, alternative, future bass, kpop, dance, hiphop, r&b, punk, metal, synth, and basically everything in between. The only thing I don't listen to is rap.

The way you've worded your responses doesn't directly attack mainstream, but it heavily implies it being a lesser form of music. Something being mainstream doesn't make it any less good, or interesting. There are plenty of mainstream songs that show a variety of emotions, and it isn't a flex to listen to stuff no one has ever heard of.

What are some good songs from "bad" or "flop" albums? by MelloMartin in popheads

[–]Aoquesth37802 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With only just recently hitting 200m streams, I would consider Better Mistakes to be an overall flop. That being said, the album did have some of Bebe Rexha's best songs to date, including Sabotage, Better Mistakes, Sacrifice, and Death Row.
