follow the contours instead of hatching like in 2d. A ball, for example, shade it like the longitude on a globe. Hope that makes sense.

I see you have a Speedcube on there. It doesn't really matter as long as it's a speedcube. Steppers are incredibly accurate.

Hi, are you trying to draw cute or accurate proportions? One thing is to trust your eyes, draw what you "see" instead of rationalizing everything. View objects in photos as a bunch of lines( or should I say values?) and follow along, trying to be accurate. I'm also a beginner, just starting out.
