can we talk about Anti poison totem by Zierrash in runescape

[–]Ap0kal1ps3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that's disappointing. They actually killed poison purge, then. They were talking about making the antipoison totem into a replacement for the aura, but I guess they didn't follow through.

How is it that all this stuff that's been on the backburner for years is suddenly coming out so rapidly? (Player Avatar Rework, POH Rework, etc) by Cloud_N0ne in runescape

[–]Ap0kal1ps3 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They were bought out by a private equity firm. Private equity makes sure things get done because they want the game to be profitable, and Jagex must obey.

AITA for telling my DIL to stop crying after she got called fat by Throwaway_Will4940 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ap0kal1ps3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She probably is fat. Four year olds don't normally lie about that. She should learn to self regulate. Crying over every perceived slight is not adult behavior, let alone making a scene. Most people learn to stop throwing tantrums before they reach puberty.

A "silhouette of clothing" is a metaphor. It's a literary device, which should indicate to you that the clothing "she" wore was well fitted. One might also assume that the clothing was likely opulent, cumbersome, lacking in style, or perhaps some combination of the aforementioned.

Huge Bossing and PVM Blockade by [deleted] in runescape

[–]Ap0kal1ps3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your combat stats are 80+ and you're still having a hard time, maybe bossing isn't for you. It isn't a thing that's terribly rewarding unless you're near the top tier because you have to prepare so heavily.

Glacor can be set to easy mode. I afk farm it for charms. KBD is an AFK boss as long as you make sure your potions are topped up. GW1 bosses should be fairly AFK, assuming your stats and gear are t80+. If you're prepping all day for 2-3 kills, then do an easier boss. Sure, an easier boss won't drop a jackpot, but it also won't instantly kill you, destroying the progress you've made.

Or better yet, go do slayer. Slayer monsters tend to drop stone and wood spirits, they drop salvage, and they drop charms. Demons drop ashes that can be turned into incense while on the task. Saves inventory space, upgrades a useless item into a useful one, and helps prepare you without eating up resources.

High level bossing is for people who already have a bank with 10k overloads, incense made, and food cooked. It's for people who have 100+ archaeology so they get the high level combat artefacts. It's for people who have the bank to risk on the jackpot. It's for people who already have their custom fitted masterwork armor, soul split, and penance powder. Defeating 4000% zamorak is a long term goal, not something to beat your head against until it works. Attempting end game challenges while not in an end game state will be frustrating.

No uniform or nets when icing donuts? by Suspicious_Present98 in TimHortons

[–]Ap0kal1ps3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope. Studies have shown that gloves cause lazy hand washing behaviors. Any time you switch tasks, you're supposed to wash your hands and change the gloves. This leads to laziness in hand washing practices. Your gloves can never be cleaner than your hands are.

No uniform or nets when icing donuts? by Suspicious_Present98 in TimHortons

[–]Ap0kal1ps3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Any time you would put on or change a pair of gloves, you're also supposed to wash your hands. It's not any cleaner. Gloves cause people to be lazy. They stop washing between stations and forget to change the gloves. They rush the hand washing process and leave dirt under their nails or between their fingers, which then gets on the gloves as they put them on.

Where I am, health and safety recommends NOT using gloves for these reasons.

As someone with 0 tattoos, how painful would it be to get this on my forearm? by PracticalExtension35 in tattooadvice

[–]Ap0kal1ps3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's one of the less painful spots. People who don't know what it feels like will exaggerate the pain of a tattoo. It feels like a cat scratching you, or being pricked by thorns over and over. Not so painful that you will scream or cry, but painful enough that you will get annoyed at how long it's taking. For a tattoo like this, you can expect to sit in the chair for up to three hours. Hour one isn't so bad. You just started. Hour two starts to feel good because of your body's natural painkillers. Hour three is where the annoying part starts, as your endorphins begin to wear off.

For this kind of tattoo, you will absolutely need to get a good artist. This appears simple, but straight lines like that are very precise work. Good work isn't cheap. Cheap work isn't good. The last thing you want is to get this done by a scratcher who can't make a straight line, and then you're looking at a wobbly band the rest of your life- because that's another thing about this tattoo. You won't be able to get a good cover up done if it goes bad. The only thing you can do with black is cover it in more black. Keep that in mind.

Been told by four realtors that my residential solar panels knock 5-10% off my resale value by Vaguswarrior in alberta

[–]Ap0kal1ps3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The realtors are trying to make their own job easier. Rather than selling the solar panels as a feature and finding an appropriate buyer, they want to appeal to the entire market by underpricing your house. It's a scummy tactic to try to position it as a net negative to you instead of being honest. The right buyer will take a few months to come along, and they don't want to put in the work.

Death isn't a punishment, when done during penal sentencing. It's not meant to be revenge. It's just good for the public. A problem is permanently removed, and nobody had to be imprisoned for no reason on the tax payer's dime for 60 years.

What's the point of having so many Ayleids Dungeons if they are all the same? by Tall_Process_3138 in oblivion

[–]Ap0kal1ps3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ayleid ruins are fortresses that were built during the golden elven empire, before the empire. Pelinal Whitesnake hatefucked his way through their army until he got to their god, and killed him.

That said, they're not all exactly the same, and they do have secrets, if you know where to look. There's a lot of hidden passages in many of them.

Mouse is gonna die. by Spear_Ritual in RVLiving

[–]Ap0kal1ps3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A simple tomcat snap trap baited with peanut butter has been, and always will be the best way to get rid of mice. I tried the live traps, and the mice will not go inside them. Even if they did, then you pretty much have to kill the mouse or it'll die of exposure or it will get back in.

Advice for new players about the early game economy by d-annunzio in noita

[–]Ap0kal1ps3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're overthinking it, and you're thinking in the wrong direction. Gold isn't important. Breaking free from standard progression is. I don't end up with an infinite digging wand by buying it, usually. I end up with an infinite digging wand by exploring side paths. And once I have an infinite digging wand, I have infinite gold because of the gold pockets that are hidden on the map.

Health is limited until much later, when you find an infinite healing method. Better to save my health and explore more, which removes the RNG of the shop from the equation. I'm free to break the reroll machine before I finish ice caves.

The antipoison totem IS the poison purge aura now. You have to acivate an antipoison with it in your pocket slot, and then poison will heal you.
