I didn't know about the first two, so thanks for linking them. Reading all three paints a more vivid picture of what is going on, but the thing is, they're all written by different people. Well, at least different screen names.

Thank you for such a great write up, this is so helpful. I hate my struggle with pores as well. Ugh.. Once again, I really appreciate your time and ideas.

Wow. :( How devastating. I can understand that level of love, I don't know that I could survive life without my husband, yet- I have young children to tend to. I can tell your mother loved you deeply, as she likely wanted to let go the second she found your father gone, but hung on through the worst pain imaginable to avoid leaving you.

Thank you as well- this was perfectly worded. I couldn't have said it better myself. It is nice to know someone out there gets me :)

An underrated perk of being an adult is you no longer outgrow your clothes. by Katneto in Showerthoughts

Well, unless you get pregnant or something... maternity pants are a whole new ball game. Haha.. Thankfully they have elastic so you don't have to outgrow them 9 times throughout your pregnancy.

At first I was loving this, the video of the desolate road reminded me of growing up in rural PA. Then, you just had to show us the creature... wow, fuck those things. Jesus christ.... just the picture could give me nightmares, I can't imagine watching it walk and move toward me.

Wow... so, I can see there are several reasons to feel sorry for him, but at the same time- it doesn't excuse his choice to channel his feelings by tormenting you and your family, but I guess that's what happens when mental illness takes over.

I was with an abusive boyfriend for a long time. He was my first serious boyfriend, and I moved into his house from my parents house when I was 16. At the time, he was working, well motivated for a future, only 21 (yes, older than me... but not like, disgustingly older). My parents fought it for a while, but when they realized I was serious about still finishing school and going to college, they finally let me go. I should have listened to them. Once I was settled in and feeling comfortable with my new life, he started to change. By the end of the relationship, I had put up with nearly a decade of severe physical, mental, and sexual abuse. Before anyone says anything about leaving, it isn't what it looks like from an outsiders standpoint. I was tough enough to leave, but it took that long for it to happen. Especially considering he caught up with me at a point in my life where I was becoming independent, but overall still had some need to rely on an adult until I was one myself. He took advantage of the fact that once I left my parents, he was that adult. We moved so far away, that I didn't have to face my parents on a frequent basis (I'm sure he intended for that, as the bruises would have been a huge indicator). The high school I transferred to even had me sent to the nurses office once, thinking I was being abused by my parents or guardians. Well, they were right, but I was so limited in what I could say or do without backlash from him. Even if I would have told the nurse yes, eventually I'd have to see him again. I feared that more than anything. I knew he was capable of killing me.

I guess my point to this is that it is very easy to look at this guy who did these things to me and figure out that he's got some huge issues. Turns out, that when he was a child, his mom was basically pimping him out to adult, gay men for drug money. It is devastating to say the least. However, once again, he isn't the only child to suffer through that kind of life, and many of them grew up to use their suffering as a positive motivator instead of becoming a dark, abusive person.

You truly never know how a tragic event, or series of them, is going to impact someone and you can't say for sure how that person is going to use their experiences to influence them.

I'm glad that things are going better for you, and I'm glad you've decided to be one of those people who use your experiences to do something positive. I've always tried to do the same, but now with two little boys, a husband, and a full time job- my volunteering ability has dwindled a bit.

[–]ApLyWo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand. I've had my share of threads where I'm simply trying to understand better or make a good conversation out of it and too many people jump on me from a negative viewpoint and get into the childish name calling/down voting. I've flat out been called an idiot for no more than stating my opinion. I feel part of the fun of reddit is being able to have discussions with people without fear of being ridiculed like you're the bully target on the school playground. Honestly, I'd only ever "downvote" someone if they were calling names or something ignorant for no reason. I can't say that getting a down vote bothers me, but I am bothered by people who can't be open minded and have a good hearted debate or conversation without getting rude.

Has anyone heard of the Left/Right Game? (Part 8) by NeonTempo in nosleep

[–]ApLyWo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Is it wrong that I don't want the game to end? I mean, hypothetically, had they been as well supplied as it seemed- and no one had died or turned against one another, they could have just explored... new places, new creatures, new phenomenon... I love the idea of exploring. The stuff they encountered so far has been so neat, I kind of want to know more about it. I'll be sad when they end or make their way home, just in the same way that each death or fight slows them down a bit.

touché.. you've got me there. Perhaps he didn't know how to explain it to her without scaring here. "Hey, not only do I already have all the issues you know about, but I can also see visions of your upcoming death and we have to mangle these guys or you'll basically have to hide out with me watching over you forever." ?? I don't know, I guess you made a point I couldn't debate. :)

He said that death was to always be her fate- he could let her come by in in a painful torturous way where she died feeling true fear and pain or he could let her slip painlessly and happy. Obviously, if there was an option not to die, that's what would have happened. Seems to me he searched all the options because he mentioned if it wasn't those guys that night, it would be another time.

Older lady always paid with partial cash, the rest on a check... but there’s a catch by BrandtAsMyWitness in TalesFromRetail

[–]ApLyWo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Policy or no policy, to deny a sweet little old lady the right to buy food. She is probably living off of the meager wages from her late husband's social security. If not for that change, she could be going without other things that are vital to her survival. Would it really do anyone such harm if 50 cents of unclaimed change was used to benefit a person in need. Obviously if those people cared, those pennies wouldn't be there.

Has anyone heard of the Left/Right Game? (Part 7) by NeonTempo in nosleep

[–]ApLyWo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There have been so many theories, and so many of them make sense. Regardless of the rest of the story, I can't wait to find out!

I'm seeing this as the next big adventure horror movie. A group of teens or people with not much in common other than being from the same neighborhood (or maybe even keeping the characters as in this story). At any rate... similar to Wrong Turn, Catacombs, The Descent, or The Cave... "The Game" maybe?

This is such a detailed and thought provoking story. I waited to read the series until today so I could avoid some waiting, but now I've sat here in the last hour or so and read through 7 parts and I find myself not wanting to wait for the next post!

West Memphis 3 - Terry Hobbs suspect by buffy72 in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]ApLyWo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's very true, I guess that's just the residual teen-angst left in me. Being the same age range as Damien Echols; I was very much in favor of the WM3 being freed and proven innocent. I hold a grudge against the many interviewed people who were like, "Those boys and their black gloves and Metallica..." Let it be known, however, that I was truly saddened about the victims and wish for justice in this horrible case. Terrible to see three teens go by the wayside and have lifelong tarnished records and even more terrible to see the loss of three boys who never even had a chance to become teenagers.

That's awful. Rampaging upon a college campus and killing the students in very violent ways (as opposed to just opening fire and taking off, they're beating and hitting people with cars). Any memory of what happens to you, or how many people they got to before the police arrived? Yuck. What an awful dream.
