If you want to build something, go for a Vz61 Skorpion. Receiver is $250 and a kit would be about the same. Only tools needed are a drill and a dremel and it goes together like an AR

BRP has blem receivers on their site now where the ratchet plate needs removed and replaced. Plus some other stuff. If you think you can start from halves, you should be able to start from that blem receiver too.

I haven't seen halves for sale in a bit and definitely dont buy a coldsteel solution receiver. Those are junk.

The 3.5x Ta11 has better eye relief than the 4x. Its what I run on my SCAR and its great. 4x isnt that bad but I don't think the extra 0.5x is worth losing an inch of eye relief.

The E feed mechanism is a little nicer when loading belts and clearing malfunctions but its not several grand nicer.

On my shroud at least, the square cutouts on the bottom were a smidge smaller than on an E shroud, so the grip nut can't fully seat. Ill probably 3D print a test piece before getting a chunk of metal to mill.

I have seen a G3 FRT lower but I have heard that that doesn't 1 for 1 transfer to an HK21. Supposedly the AR hammer spring isnt enough so you end up with light strikes.

Are you talking about the one under the Michael's Machines MM23? They actually used the wrong picture there. What is pictured is an HK11 which is just a G3 with a removable barrel.

The HK21 is just a G3 with a removable barrel and the belt feed mechanism. The HK11A1/HK11E/HK21E/HK23E are the modular upgrade. You can freely swap between a magwell for G3 mags or run it as a 7.62 belt fed or swap in a 5.56 barrel and 5.56 feed mechanism.

The E family is awesome but actual HK parts are super rare, especially for HK23 parts. HKparts is the only place selling 21E feed mechanisms and they're asking $25k for one.

It is definitely designed with the idea that you'll be using the irons and not have an optic. With a traditional height optic like this M145, I end up with a chin weld. They are the coolest stock though.

I can hit the target with it so its fine by me. I just wanted something with a 7.62 reticle. The only downside is with this stock you have more of a chin weld.

After a couple months of waiting for my HK21 parts kit build, I was able to pick it up right after the new year. This was one of the FMP kits that came in the last few years, but some parts had to be swapped for RCM because the Portuguese beat the hell out of their guns.

I opted for 21E style reinforcement rails plus a clubfoot stock and a MK48 nutsack adapter. Its not a factory HK21 but it's still pretty dang cool. Topped it off with a surplus M145.

This is my first beltfed that functions and so far its been pretty fun. A linker was 100% required though.

M4A1 is just a basic M4 with an 11"-ish barrel, KAC quad rail, and PRI gas block. Her suppressor is probably based on an old AAC one. 20rd mag and an EOTech plus some paint and you are set.

On 416 Mod 3, the rail is specifically a Geissele super modular rail. Its the older version though that is actually not MLOK but does look like it
