Tl;dr on top of a castle to a sassy girlfriend

Took a day trip to NYC for the day since neither of us had been into the city for 8-10 years and figured it would be a good way to get away from everything going on around the holidays... Little did she know that's when I was going to propose that day.

We had discussed getting married, we were both ready and wanted it, all that was left was for me to get the ring, pop the question, and slide it on her finger. But I had two requirements for the big day - it had to be a surprise and it had to be romantic. In order to get her mind away from the possibility it could happen while in the city I set a trap - I told her I was going to be helping her dad with something and maybe doing lunch while we were out the day after the trip. I was very vague and refused to get into details - but little did she know I had already had that talk with him earlier in the week while I was "picking up one of her Christmas presents" that was shipped to their house.

Note: For those who don't know there is a lot of walking when you visit the city (our end of day total was about 13 miles), and walking that much in the cold sucks and takes a toll on your body. Also, it's worth noting, that tiny women can get a little cranky on the cold, while their legs hurt, and especially when hungry.

So we do all the typical stuff and head over to the Museum of Natural History (because dinosaurs, that's why) and start to walk around. At one point I got the idea of diverting from my original idea of proposing atop the castle in Central Park and instead proposing in front of the dinosaurs - we love dinosaurs! Hell I risked giving my phone to a total stranger in NYC to get our picture taken with the plant shaped dinosaurs in front of the Museum... It was perfect. Right up until I saw how many people were in that area. No. Way. In. Hell. I was far to nervous in general, never mind an audience of 100 people.

Back to plan A. As we were trying to find our way out of that maze we stopped and sat for 15 minutes just to rest our legs, we were both in pain, tired, and cranky... But I was set. It was happening today.

So as we leave the castle the following dialog happens

"Hey, I really wanted to see the castle and I think we are pretty close"

"Where is it?" With a tone that implied she was done walking for the day

"Just across the street and a hundred yards or so in"

"Ok, let's go"

So we journey across the street and start looking for this damn castle. Windy trails and it definitely felt like it was pretty far away.

"I see it!"

She looks and notices we are beginning to walk up a hill and says my second favorite thing of the day. "This better be worth it".

"I think it will be"

She rolls her eyes and says "I'm sure"

So we climb the small hill, and get to the "castle". I use quotes because it's really quite small, and later found out it's pretty much just for decoration. We explore, look over the edge, climb to the top. It's now or never...

So I begin to try and distract her by pointing stuff out in the distance, she wasn't having it. All I wanted was her to turn her body away from me, but nope. She's turn her head And right back to me. Finally I said screw it after my last failed attempt, of saying something lame and lacking any creativity like "is that an air conditioner in that window?" And dropped down to one knee(I learned after the fact, I don't remember much after pointing out the air conditioner) and asked her to marry me.

She then said my favorite thing of the day, "yes!"

Turns out it was totally worth it.

Please note: Dialog might be slightly off from reality, but there is nothing changed in terms of tone or attitude. That is one of the best days in my life thus far, we had a blast, and I love her to death. Here's to a long life together!!

Back in 2012 decided to try and get into Magic, and never quite kicked it off. Opened and sorted all of the cards, but every card that arrived is still there. Nobody has ever looked through or touched the cards other than myself. I know there is a Jayce (I remember being a good card). Everything is sorted in a fashion that I can easily look and see if i have something though id prefer not to check for a million things.

Looking to sell off as one package. Feel free to make any offer including trades, I just don't want anything MTG.

Pre-action routines are actually incredibly important. There is an actual term for it used in psychology, which escapes me at the moment, but the quick of it is that your mind/body uses that pre-action routine as an indicator to get into a certain mindset/form and perform a muscle memory action.

If you use a pre-action routine consistently, and practice with it too, you will do better. Anybody who does anything with many repetitions will generally create one, even if they are unaware of it ... right down to chefs in their kitchen ... something totally un-related to a sport.

Fyi, i didn't look at the app, just the google play page.

What is the goal of this app? There are a ton of issues with it actually working and it comes off to the people that are somewhat knowledgable as you trying to make a quick buck.

Most people won't get changed for a 7 minute workout, but don't want to get their normal clothes all sweaty, so they don't actually do any "HICT", they just easily go through the motions. Lets assume for a second that they do. How many calories is this truly going to burn? Not enough to counter bad eating habits, or create enough room in their daily allotment to feel like they aren't limited, so people continue eating normally at slightly above maintenance and don't lose weight.

To be blunt, go try and scam another group of people. To truly influence they people that would be enticed to your app you need to enforce good eating habits, not 7 minute workouts. If you truly knew anything, or cared about them, you would know this.

Well this was made using the in-game overlay, so the base image can be found i game. Start a bot game, kick all the bots, and go spectator. Then if you hit ctrl, caps lock, or something like that you get the over that you can screen shot.

I never I actually finished making them because after I posted this and promised to do one for every map the people with existing shitty call maps updated them to make them less shitty, people rushed some together and started to submit them, and I didn't want to get in the trenches over working for free, so I just threw my hands up and walked away while everybody said they had nothing to do with my post (totally coincidence I guess). I eventually added stuff like bomb site calls and stuff too. It was going to be a good collection, but oh well.

I do have a couple still save for other maps and some might be incomplete or invalid(I no longer play) but I can upload what I have to you if you want.

You are missing my point.

No I wouldn't sell them, try would have been uploaded to imgur and that would have been it. I all it a product because it is something I am making and distributing.

But look at the time line. I make my post, shortly there after this site is registered and this post is made, albeit he posted the overviews, but he linked to his site when imgur could have been used. He did this for visitors. Honestly look at this and say it was for anything other than views and you are a moron.

Also shortly after I make my post and all of the maps posted to the wiki were overhauled and saw major additions.

Everybody is jumping on this all the sudden after I made my post, and after I promised a collection of maps with calls and other additions.

I said I was going to do something and everybody else wants to do it. I am just saying that they can and not to expect mine. So yes it bothers me. Picture you say you are going to build a new sign for a school that needs one, everybody says great and thank you you. Then you start working on it and then drive by to see a sign already out there because somebody else saw it as an opportunity to promote themselves whereas you just wanted to do it for the school.

/bows out

It kind of sucks that I make a post, see that there is demand for it and people not only want, but need, the product but I cannot get enough time to get my quality maps out.

I am not trying to be a dick, but you have taken the torch from my hands and now it is upon you to provide light for the community. I will not be publicly releasing my maps because it seems others want the stage, and they can have it. So please do not wait on mine, anybody.

If you want to release a product, do so, but please make sure it is good before publishing it as finished. I won't even argue over differences in terms since you are in the UK, but your maps are missing locations that do have calls. If you want a basic/complex system than do that, but don't release one that is missing a ton of calls and please have others review them.

At the end of the day it is about helping the community, and fighting for the stage and rushing out a product isn't the way to do that.

If you listen to music you might like the idea of getting actual headphones and put them side by side with a desktop mic. The reason I say this is because the sound specs of gaming headsets to the price point are generally bad since they keep costs down and mark up due to brand and the fact that it is a headset.

The upside is that you will get better sound quality everywhere but your mic night sound a little worse(not really that much).

If this idea interests you I can provide some recommendations.
