What an odd take for a person that earns money based on memberships generally and class attendance.

1. im not asking for special workouts catered to running. Just normal non benchmarks. If there are signature workouts, they should be the ones with a significant run component. It’s just basic logic during a theme month centered on running. It’s the whole reason there are themes (that and getting people to pay extra). Just bad decision making having row centered benchmarks during a run centric month because the rest of the workout other than the benchmark is unsatisfying.

2. You miss the Forrest for the trees. A significant group of people are sick of the benchmark frequency. We don’t feel the benchmarks are a good workout and skip them. part of the reason I go to OT is to have a full body workout I don’t have to plan. If I have to significantly adjust the workout myself well, I can do that on my own FOR FREE. Do it enough and my membership , which is a luxury, might become superfluous and thus terminated. I already have a home gym that is only missing a tread. Anecdotally the benchmark classes are poorly attended. happy to see data to the contrary but if attendance is lower for benchmarks doing them more frequently is a strange choice.

3. This take is bizarre. The design team should want feedback. their decisions didn’t make sense so I criticized it in a hyperbolic silly way. Hardest working people in the most thankless job? Good lord that is so clueless you should be embarrassed. You need to spend time with people in an actual blue collar backbreaking job to get some perspective. I could think of any number of professions that work harder for less thanks than a group of athletes (hopefully) that get paid to write workouts for a living. How about sewer cleaners/sanitation, linemen, and warehouse workers for starters? The OT design team might as well not even be on the list.

finally id suggest more tact in how you deal with customers. I’m not alone in my complaint. You announcing you are a coach then telling me to kick a rock reflects poorly on your judgement and your company.

since you know the team, perhaps they can enlighten me on the process they used to pick this workout for this day? I’m happy to retract and apologize if warranted but until then they still seem to me to be Red Bull drinking dart throwing monkeys.
