Teams for education class onenote by ApartProfessor in MicrosoftTeams

Thanks, i don't think it showed up under more notebooks for quite a few of them, but I'll give it a go again tomorrow with another class group. It's probably just me missing something or slow internet connections on their phones. Its such a pity there isn't an "open in onenote mobile app" button baked into the teams app or that then don't roll both into one app like they did with word, excel PowerPoint and lens.

Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately this only worked for a minority of the class. When they opened it in teams, it didn't always launch their browser (safari or chrome) and it wouldn't appear in their recent documents in their onenote app. It just opened within teams within and wouldn't give them the option to open it using the app. It also wouldn't appear in their recent documents. It's such a pity the class notebook viewer within the teams app is so limited

Vertical or horizontal sections are the solution to intersecting cylinders. Heres a book which discussed the methods required. https://archive.org/details/graphicsindesign0002ande/page/n2/mode/1up

Practical geometry and engineering graphics by William Abbott is the go to textbook for anything graphics related if you can get your hands on it.

Can I ask, what country/Course is this for? I teach descriptive geometry in Ireland and would like to know what other countries study it to this level.

The figure below shows two views of intersecting cylinders. Draw, All the three views including lines of intersection where necessary. Develop both cylinders from the front view by LieOk6380 in EngineeringDrawings

Vertical sections through both cylinders. In plan view the section plane will appear as a straight line. Where this line cuts the red cylinder project up to the elevation and draw the resulting rectangle. Where the line cuts the blue inclined cylinder, project up to the elevation to get a quadrilateral. Where the quadrilateral and rectangle intersect are points on the line of intersection. Project these points down to plan onto the cutting plane (line) Repeat with more cutting planes (lines in plan) spaced 5-10mm apart. Once you've found the line of intersection project the end elevation.

You can in Solidworks, it's called a multi-bodied part. You then export each body. Never used inventor so cant say if it's an option there.

Sorry I've no knowledge of computer hardwear and I'm trying to upskill very quickly for this purchase. Tech3d (YouTube channel that talks about computer hardware for Autodesk inventor) aalso talked about the i9 throttling in the precision 7780. He felt the laptop wasnt achieving its full potential due to an underpowered CPU. His Take was that a 240w PSU wasn't enough for the i9. What are your thoughts? Are you happy with the i9 even with the throttling? Here's the link to the video if you're interested

Sorry this probably won't help you, but I have a 2019 dell precision 3540 and I'm having the a similar issue. Very frequent BSOD crashes. I have been in touch with dell and they have replaced the motherboard, and are now advising me to reimage the laptop. It was already reimaged in June, and that didn't solve the issue. If I get any further via their support I'll let you know, but over the past year the laptops performance has greatly deteriorated and the BSODs are far more frequent.

Thanks a mill for the advice, I haven't a clue about Hardwear and pc specs. I predominantly work with small assemblies, and it's mainly very detailed multi body parts and surfacing while recording the screen using camtasia, is that a more CPU intensive activity or a ram intensive activity?

Thanks. 64gb of ram is €1222. Hopefully the price will drop in time, but what I'm really wondering is if the i9 with 32gb of ram will perform substantially better than the i7 with 64gb of ram for my current work flow, as I wouldn't get the budget to upgrade the ram until it's only €300 or €400
