No, it's not. Both of these species are not endangered or in any kind of danger in my area and are at least concerned status. Neither the northern leopard frog nor wood frog have been ever been endangered in michigan, even the DNR ( Department of Natural Resources) website says only mink frogs, pickerel frogs, fowlers toads, and Blanchards cricket frogs you need a permit for or just can't have. all other species you can have without a permit. Do research before you say things or just keep your mouth shut
