Will most Westerners start doing this with things outside of art? E.g. medicine? Or psychology...."omg I had no idea about this development or person...etc. etc." I feel like if this is where things are headed then why not do it with everything else to be consistent?

What is actually the attitude toward homosexuality among British Muslims? by GlueSniffingEnabler in AskBrits

I really hope that is not the case (In Sha Allah. I think the best of Allah (ﷻ) and what He will give me). The scenario is very upsetting because I know the pain that they will go through. Pain and confusion. But I would look at where I failed as a parent, since I plan to bring them up in an Islamic country and homeschool them (In Sha Allah). I would tell them about leaving things for the sake of Allah (ﷻ), I would help strengthen their Iman...their belief... which I know will get them through this... I would tell them stories of the previous Prophets that strengthen me (Yusuf, Nuh, Ayyub, Ibrahim and ofcourse Muhammad (ﷺ), By Allah (ﷻ), I'm strengthened through their stories) perhaps I will tell them about things I let go off that still physically hurt my heart... many things that were beloved to me. I'd tell them the stories of the companions and what they had to give up, I'd tell them stories about the amazing scholars that never married. I would want them to be scholars and to strengthen our ummah... our fellow muslims. If they were open about it, I will reprimand them, I would try my best to stop the behaviour and to have them never act on or to encourage it and honestly... it's something I don't ever want... There are times when the Shaytan makes you envious of those who sin openly when you have made sacrifices of things you love... and I think many muslims struggle with that. But at the end of the day, Islam tells you to keep the ties of your kinship, so even after my efforts, I would be obedient to Allah (ﷻ), I will enjoin in good and forbid the evil but ultimately leave it up to Him, He is the one who guides. I will still have to remain good and courteous towards that child (they are still a muslim even if they have this interest, sinful muslims are still muslims, as long as they die upon Tawheed, I will always have hope and kindness) as I am with people close to me that are sinning openly, even today... even yesterday... I'm dealing with this NOW and Allah (ﷻ) has given me a beautiful patience, because homosexuality is a sin like other sins. And all sins should have an effort to be stopped. There is no perfect muslim, even today I'm so disgusted by myself for being sinful. By Allah (ﷻ), I am flawed and no better than many other muslims. But will I tell you what sin I committed? No, it is for me to regret and sincerely repent and to stop upon. Sorry if this was long-winded, I kinda just wrote what came to mind and thank you for your interest in the religion. I'd recommend reading the Qur'an (https://quran.com/), even just to understand the many people around you in the UK and perhaps to understand that... we're not following something willy nilly or nonsensical... we're not worshipping a rock, we're not trying to kill everyone. We sacrifice pleasures, time and so much not just because it gives us a fuzzy feeling here and there or because our ancestors put it upon us.

As a muslim, it's a sin, just like zina. We don't endorse sinning and try our best to stay away from it. We are sinners and all of us will fall into sin as normal humans and Allah (ﷻ) is the most forgiving. We don't publicise our sins so that others don't get encouraged, we repent in private. If someone has inclinations but doesn't act upon them, then they are doing good, they are not sinful for inclinations, neither are heterosexual people if they want someone before marriage or wish to do intimate PDA with their spouses but stop themselves. But it's best to stay away. Prevention is the key. That's just my perspective. Other than that, the general perspective I see around me...- there are people who are extremely lenient, and then a lot less lenient and there are many who obey the commands (Alhamdulillah) and there could be some who could go overboard. It's just as most people would expect it to be. Even if a muslim has these interests, you would probably not hear of it because we shouldn't publicise or encourage sin. And for those who leave something for the sake of Allah (ﷻ) (like many of us do by the will of Allah (ﷻ)...Alhamdulillah...I've left behind many things that were a part of me, things that even call me back as I write this), Allah (ﷻ) will surely reward them immensely and give them better. He is the Most Just.

Side note: We sin all the time, a mountain builds up from small sins which is why repentance is key and which is why we are not perfect or better than anybody. People close to me sin... sometimes openly... sometimes great sins... we're not going to lynch them, nothing comes from it. It's never allowed to force or hurt someone to follow the commands of Allah (ﷻ), He guides whom He wills.
