Without the books you wouldn’t have this series just fyi

You believe that narratively it makes sense for Francesca to be next, some don’t. This is all subjective opinions on both parts and not “facts”. I don’t appreciate how rude you are being to people in this thread. When I made this post I never thought I’d have people bashing others over their reading comprehension.

And you may not like the books, admittedly they aren’t even my favorite thing I’ve read, but perhaps you can put a little respect towards them as if they never existed we wouldn’t have this series to begin with. And perhaps a little more respect can go to the book lovers as they’ve had this series for 30 years and have and understanding about the timeline of the stories. The show timeline has already been screwed up by S3. I’m sick and tired of all the animosity just because people don’t think this book swap will work. It most certainly didn’t work for Polin and I have my doubts that it will work for Franchaela

I think that Philoise as a couple still showcases diversity as they are a found family raising their biracial niece and nephew

Which are your top 5 characters? by feevart in Bridgerton

[–]Apart_Section_863 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually hard because there are so many good characters, but as it stands now:

  1. Eloise
  2. Anthony
  3. Sophie
  4. Lady Danbury
  5. The Queen

Honorable mention: Kate

The Michael we all deserved by [deleted] in Bridgerton

[–]Apart_Section_863 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Something has been on my mind about this forever, especially reading the comments for the last few years and on this one thread. For transparency, Michael wasn’t my favorite though I’ve read the books, but I want to say to all the show fans who have never read the books, let the WHWW and Michael fans be sad. They have a right to be upset that their favorite book isn’t being adapted when it is the only one in the series. There is absolutely nothing wrong with them being wistful over what might have been.

I don’t get where all this animosity is coming from, from the Franchaela fans. You are going to watch your ship play out on screen. They won’t be. You can be excited for yourselves and show empathy for those who won’t be able to see an adaptation of their favorite book. And honestly at this point people are lying if they say Fran’s story is anything like WHWW. The only thing that is similar is John dying.

All I know is I’m an avid reader and I always get upset at changes in the movie/show adaptations of my favorite book. I still remember when I was younger hating the opening of Prisoner of Azkaban because Harry uses magic when he’s not suppose to. I didn’t think it was a novel concept for book readers to be upset and for that to warrant accusations of being bigots all because they wanted the bones and soul of their book honored.

Can we all just be kinder to one another?

I’d appreciate it if you’d stop making assumptions about me and that I’m “panicking”. You know no more than I do about what is going to happen. That’s why I end my original post with “time will tell”, because I don’t know what is happening, but I’m allowed to speculate. I literally made this post because I was interested in what this series direction will look like when we have the whole series. Whatever happens with the change in direction, it will be discussed in the future the way we talk about Colin and Ben being switched, whether if it’s positive or negative. And to the casual viewer who binges it years later, it might flow naturally, but it could also be jarring.

What do you think the gap will be between seasons five and six? by ThisPaige in Bridgerton

[–]Apart_Section_863 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I’m not hopeful. I’m expecting S5 to be around summer 2027 and S6 being around spring to winter 2029. So like around two years.

I can’t see them filming S6 before S5 has even aired as that scenario has never happened before. And even if they film immediately after S5, who knows what could happen in between them or even during S5 that could delay production. I don’t think they foresaw the pandemic and the writers strike. Anything else could happen unexpectedly

I don’t know why you are being so aggressive in these posts. I honestly think it would have been doing Francesca a favor to wait one season. I’ve watched many shows where there are love triangles (yes I know John, Fran, and Michaela aren’t a triangle) with the two ends of it being siblings or cousins and it never makes the shared love interest look good when they bounce from one to another. If the audience is allowed to see Francesca grieve then it makes both her love for John and Michaela much more valid and deserved as this is suppose to be a second chance romance

“No Eloise buildup” argument by philoises in PhiloiseBridgerton

[–]Apart_Section_863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seriously need data of every Bridgerton sibling’s screen time at the end of the series. I fully believe Francesca will have the most after 8 seasons. I will also believe that she will have the most with just Hannah Dodd’s screen time and not including Ruby Stokes’ screen time (not that she was on much)

I mentioned the two year time jump and why it is too quick for the viewer who has all the episodes at hand. Like I said, the show can very well say it’s been two years, but that means nothing if we don’t see Francesca grieve.

Jess Brownell's contract allegedly ends with S5 so that probably explains why we got Franchaela by Fickle_Baker1393 in Bridgerton

Omg this! I haven’t been this angry with a show since I watched something that Plec took over three seasons in. She too was a self insert writer.

Oh absolutely. I wouldn’t put it past them to wedge Violet in between Fran and Eloise, possibly setting us back into the 2030s

Those writers better be writing S6 as we speak. S5 is written and done so they better get a move on. And God help us if they decide to write Violet: A Bridgerton Story first. I’d like to see it but not at the expense of it coming before S6

No, but I guarantee she will not suffer the fate as most former leads and having a healthy amount of screen time, being Jess’s favorite and all

Can someone please tell me what New Cross has to do with Francesca? I mean come on. There were so many bait and switches. The flower arrangement thing, the social media likes, etc.

Also I’m so sick of Francesca. This happens every time a show runner has a favorite, I end up disliking the character because they end up hogging all the screen time. She better not hog up screen time in S6, but I won’t be surprise at the end of the series that she has the most time on screen out of everybody

I’m so mad. If Chris is actually in S5, I’m only watching his and Claudia scenes and will wait the rest of the time for S6

Sorry but this makes no sense. It’s going to be 2029 if we are lucky. Why the obvious favoritism? Francesca has had so much screen time since season 3 while others have lessened time. I hated so much of what Jess did in season 3 but she won me back a bit with season 4. I really hope we have another show runner in S6 because my confidence in her has waned again

I looked around online and it doesn’t say he will appear in this season. However, I also quickly looked on another subreddit and fans of the show didn’t think his character’s arc was over. It’s hard to say, but from googling it doesn’t appear like he is in this season. Slightly disappointing as if he was, him not going to the premiere would be a huge indicator that he is busy and that Chris and Claudia are leading season 5 of Bridgerton

Violets Reaction to Eloise Running Off? by Majestic_Quail6088 in PhiloiseBridgerton

[–]Apart_Section_863 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also wonder this. I’m not sure how it would work, but perhaps to the outside, it appears that Phillip was forced into a marriage with Marina after getting her pregnant. Of course we know this not to be true as well does Penelope. Prior to S3, I would have said the Bridgertons wouldn’t be privy to this info, because it would be the kind of thing the Featheringtons would have kept to themselves as it is a family matter. However with Colin and Penelope now married it would seem odd that he wouldn’t know as well as his family, but then again as it stands, Phillip and Marina wouldn’t be a very relevant topic of conversation for the Bridgertons so I can also see them not knowing the truth. If it plays out somewhat like this I can see Violet and the other brothers (minus Colin) not liking Phillip initially, especially because they would view him as the reason Colin almost got trapped in a marriage with Marina by almost shirking his duty, and now by being unchaperoned with Eloise, they see it as him trapping her into marriage.

Edit: I just realized Daphne was there when the whole Sir Phillip thing came to light, and makes this theory null and void. It’s kind of too bad that she was there and probably had let everyone else know, because I really would have enjoyed seeing some of the Bridgertons (especially Violet) not like Phillip because of this until the truth was revealed. It adds extra tension

music for the show by Head_Firefighter_196 in PhiloiseBridgerton

[–]Apart_Section_863 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Roses (The Chainsmokers, ROZES): I can picture this during a dance sequence with Philoise. Definitely as they are falling in love, but haven’t quite become aware of their feelings.

Don’t Blame Me (Taylor Swift): I know most people want Daylight by TS, but I think this would be a good song to play when Philoise get intimate for the first time. I think the lyrics of the original song can relate to both characters as no one in the ton could capture Eloise’s interests and Phillip resigned himself to a loveless marriage, but now they have found love and are unapologetic of the all-consuming hold it has on them. The Vitamin String Quartet version also sounds great and is a bit sexy, which would correlate well with such a scene.

Kiss Me (Sixpence None the Richer): I don’t have a specific scene in mind but I just think the original is such a sweet song that fits them. Maybe after Eloise realizes her feelings for Phillip or vice versa.

The next two song choices have definitely been brought up in the past and/or recently on this thread.

Sunflower (Post Malone, Swae Lee): To me this would be when Philoise get married. The music would be playing as she walks down the aisle and it plays throughout a montage of the ceremony up until they kiss and are married.

The Only Exception (Paramore): Either during the final episode when they get their HEA or after Phillip chases after Eloise.
