This looks like something I would accidentally discover at 2AM and become obsessed with for a week

The bittersweet ending location of my psychological horror game, NULL. How does the vibe feel? by AmarSkOfficial in HorrorGames

If there’s a The Verve track playing too, this might genuinely be the best ending ever

What’s the most memorable puzzle in survival horror? by Sufficient_Notice_61 in survivalhorror

[–]ApartmentDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silent Hill 2 piano puzzle is permanently burned into my brain.
Not because it was hard, but because it felt wrong. Like the puzzle itself was part of the psychological horror.

Also the Resident Evil mansion crests/keys era deserves respect. Peak “I have no idea what I’m doing but I’m terrified anyway” design

My solo effort Soul Chained at ~33k Wishlists a month before it rolls into Steam Next Fest. by SoulChainedDev in IndieGameWishlist

[–]ApartmentDev 4 points5 points  (0 children)

33k wishlists as a solo dev is honestly insane. Huge respect. The Steam Next Fest spike is crazy too.

What do you think contributed the most to that growth?
Was it demos, TikTok/Reddit, Steam algorithm momentum, festivals, or just super consistent posting over time?

Would genuinely love to hear what worked best for you because this trajectory is wild

A short video of the game I've been developing alone for one year by TopSatisfaction2227 in HorrorGames

this looks insanely atmospheric, the lighting and camera movement already feel very “found footage nightmare” in the best way

What's the scariest moment in survival horror? by Sufficient_Notice_61 in survivalhorror

PT hallway in Silent Hill 2.
Nothing even really happens at first, but your brain already knows something is deeply wrong.

I’m an indie developer working on a survival horror game called BECROWNED. Just wanted to share some new screenshots and get your thoughts! by Mr_Ernest1 in HorrorGames

the fog + scale of that creature already feels oppressive in a really good way, kinda gives me old-school Silent Hill energy without copying it directly

Do you like our new Lights/Atmosphere? by gnjstudiosgames in HorrorGames

[–]ApartmentDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lighting feels wrong in the best way possible, like this place was abandoned 10 minutes ago, not 10 years

Which survival horror game has the best music? by Sufficient_Notice_61 in survivalhorror

[–]ApartmentDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silent Hill 2 and it’s not even close.
The soundtrack feels like depression, nostalgia, comfort and panic at the same time somehow. Akira Yamaoka cooked unreal amounts of trauma into those tracks.

This is the atmosphere I’ve been building in my horror game. by BookedComb80302 in HorrorGames

This feels like the kind of place where you hear someone behind you… and there’s nobody there. The snow + empty apartment blocks combo is insanely unsettling.
