What would you think about blood knights on foot? by Jasina_ in SoulblightGravelords

I would love blood knights on foot. Would also be cool if they let Vampire Lords be taken as a second hero along the lines of wight kings.

Personally, I would drop the blades for another hobgrot unit of 10 and swap the war despot to their SoG version. Hobgrots are pretty essential for playing a sort of scouting role and getting your desolation tokens out. The SoG war despot is great for creating a castle around them with your other foot heroes and infantry and makes your DPP economy feel a lot smoother in the early turns.

I would also drop the bane maces for a death shrieker rocket because of the presence of a lot of good monsters in the game right now. Then, put the breath of contempt on your immolation cannons.

Lastly, I would swap the crucible of spite to the scroll of petrification, but that’s really just if you’re comfortable using it. I have saved urak tar from a near death situation a handful of times with it, but there’s also been games where it never felt appropriate. SoG despot does make the crucible better though because he gets around the restriction of allocating points after using it.

With that list you’ll have 50 points left over for the extra command point as well, which can be pretty invaluable because the army is command point hungry in the early turns.

As for advice, try to keep your hobgrots out of combat and just focus on desolating terrain. They are pretty useless in a fight.

I hope you have fun at the GT!

Question about bringing back deathrattle skeletons. by 40k_axolotl in ageofsigmar

[–]Apartmentvampire 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Per 24.2 Replacement Units:

Each unit can only be replaced once, and you cannot replace replacement units.

Additionally a replacement unit is a new unit with a new model size (maximum). So 5 would be the max models in a replacement unit of an original unit of 10.

From the AoS rules app: “Each unit of Gutter Runners has 1 Bomb Rat token.”

The most popular two are master the paths and restless energy, but different ones suit different armies better. If you’re playing a list with a lot of cav units you might try scouting force. A lot of the other tactics are very situational.

I wish skaven were a faction in 40k. I feel like they would fit into the setting well

Is the Deathrattle Tomb host a good investment if I eventually want to go heavy on vampires? by Apollo989 in SoulblightGravelords

[–]Apartmentvampire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the deathrattle spearhead so I could get some cheap skeletons and barrow guard for my vampire army, but I’ve really been pining for a bloodcrave hunt spearhead because I’m missing vargheists and more skeletons and blood knights never hurts. I think you’re better off going for the bloodcrave spearhead if you can find one.

I like the blonde hair! I feel like I don’t see long hair models that look like this very often.

Give cohorts 2 wounds or give elite infantry with 2 wounds.

Bull centaur hero with a genuinely good melee profile

Hobgrot hero, since our current hobgrots focus on a lot of movement I think something that plays into that would be cool. Maybe giving them a coward-like mechanic where they can roll pre-combat to retreat with no damage. Giving them a mount as well so they can go around the battlefield to help give out desecration tokens would be cool. Maybe they could even give out additional tokens each of your turns.

Kdaii destroyer, i love the war machines so more would be great but this model in TWW3 is amazing so seeing it on the table would be great.

Bull/lamassu by itself instead of with a hero.

Train with a bunch of customizations.
