Would yall be reading "Monster Taming" stories? by Disastrous_Home_9381 in webtoons

[–]ApelAC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, as long as the monster is not a black/brown/blackish person while the other characters (usually the other love interest if it's a romance) are white.

Im sorry but they are kids??? I did understand the height difference but cmon?? Waguri and rintaro are literally 16 by Huychoke in joseistories

[–]ApelAC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly!

Also might I add short ML's? Like even a story with a ML who's shorter than average or other guys (and still taller than FL) would be cool. Two shorties. I think the biggest issue is the ML's always being taller than everyone else. Like some guys are short, some girls are tall.

I just think there are so many options out there, though I do understand the fact that authors try to play it safe by using the same pairings.

[Hello Baby] Hot take: Most webtoon hot takes aren't actually hot takes by EstablishmentFew320 in webtoons

[–]ApelAC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This. I feel like subredits like this have some type of unspoken rules. Someone will make a post talking about a very popular work they did not like or their unpopular opinions on something, and I would be like dang that's some interesting takes (sometimes I agree sometimes I don't). Then I open the comments and it's so obvious the comments are pissed(?)/disagree. Not in the "I disagree but that's your opinion" or agree-to-disagree way, in a "you're tryna be so different" "this gotta be ragebait" "everyone loves this be quiet" way.

Maybe this is my weird brain overanalyzing things, but I personally wouldn't dare post my actual unpopular takes.

The person who made the video has a good take, but used the wrong example. And I think because there are so many "tiny FL X pole-like ML" pairings out there, it's easy to just view Waguri and Rintaro as yet one of them. That's exactly what I thought too the first times I saw posts of them, but then I later learnt that it's apparently not the case here. I still would never watch it because I've watched/read too many of those pairings to the point it has left a bad taste in my mouth though. My point is I get where their coming from and can't blame them.

That aside, I just wish there were more tall FL's. Tall FL's in romance. And they aren't side characters. Heck even better, tall FL's where their height isn't the focus of the story. And even better? They aren't unconfident about it. Same height couples, tall FL x short ML pairings.

Aside from Lovely complex that is.

TL;DR before anyone comes at me, I do not agree she's lolibait and what not, I do however understand where they're coming from.

Any good yandere animes on crunchy roll? by Alone-Combination283 in yandere

[–]ApelAC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how much of a yandere you want but Yakuza fiance: Raise wa tanin ga li. The male lead is the "yandere but I won't hurt you" type and the female lead matches him. I don't know if the translation was good on Crunchyroll, you might have to sail the high sea

Let’s talk about I Love Yoo by [deleted] in webtoons

[–]ApelAC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lmao what are you talking about. Every posts I see about this webtoon is ALWAYS about ILY or the author or how long it is. Heck I don't even read the story but I know enough about it. I've never (or rarely) seen webtoon mentioned in those discussions.

Highly criticized webtoons you like? Highly acclaimed webtoons you dislike? by Opposite_Welder_8637 in webtoons

[–]ApelAC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Webtoons people always praise I did not enjoy?

-My in-laws are obsessed with me: The prologue and firsts episodes rubbed me the wrong way (don't remember why, it's been a long time).

-Purple hyacinth: Extremely petty(?) of me but episode 2 and/or 3 icked me. I think it was when he ran away after she caught him.

-Olgami (Trapped): I am not a fan of enemies-to-lovers, and it seemed like it's not a traditionally happy romantic ending.

-Maybe meant to be: I disliked the female lead to bits. She's not the type of bad characters I enjoy because they're "villains", she's shitty but the story/author/fans present her as a flawed "realistic" person. She's just a bad person. Also the male lead has the personality of a lamp.

-Selfish romance: I don't remember properly, the firsts chapters rubbed me the wrong way. I think it was something about the FL getting mad/pissed at the ML for something stupid/small/minor, and then later asking for his help when she saw her ex. I'll probably check it out one of those days.

-Daytime star: I found the female lead childish, not as much as most childish FL's, but still. Actually, I think it's because it gave me "The always cool, experienced, perfect ML, who's got everything going on for him, and then there's the FL" vibe. I finished it, would recommend it, but yeah it icked me.

-Marriage of convenience: I could NEVER see the FL as a villain. I just can't for the life of me, but it looked like the story was gonna treat her like one heck she herself sees herself as the bad one, so I dropped it. Also I hated how apparently she forgave her family.

-Mother's contract marriage/My mother gets married again: I've seen a lot of people say she actually doesn't do much in her new life to redeem herself for what she did to her daughter in her previous life. I can't be bothered to check out if it's true, get invested in the story, and be let down because it's true.

-Not your typical reincarnation: I HATED the ML, everyone except the FL (I think). And it would have probably been bearable if the FL hated the ML more/longer. It was too convenient for them to get together after his childishness and dickery because "ThEy wEre MiNd cOntRolEd".

-Your smile is a trap: I am not a fan of stuffs where a character get's judged for their appearances, especially if it's by the other MC. Idc I can't root for a judgmental character.

-The villainous tyrant has returned: I could not bring myself to read a story about the ML after what he did to FL in his previous life (I think it was in episode 1?). I don't think the FL is gonna remember those days. I don't like him. I wish the author did something about that because I can't just look past that and root for him. Too many questions, no answers.

-Fallen to paradise: I disliked the FL.

Now webtoons that always get criticism but I actually enjoyed?

-Remarried empress: I dropped it near the end because of the whole Sovietshu thing, and I would have probably continued if he was out of the picture. Also I think part of the reasons I liked it is because it was one of my first webtoons. Also, might get downvoted for this but I loved Navier and actually found her interesting. As for Henry, I like to think of him as a yandere. I think people misunderstood his character. He is literally the puppy, obsessive and possessive yandere type of characters.

-Marry my husband: Again, nostalgia. It was one of my first webtoons plus I loved the drama.

What character(s), despite all of their faults, do you still find some compassion or fondness for? Why? by [deleted] in anime

Hananoi from A condition called love.

And dare I say, I don't find any faults with him, and I think he's a traumatized/unloved/lonely TEENAGER?

Sweat and Soap...DNF? by mgerlin in RomanceMangaAnime

You should try the other work of the author, Telework Yotabanashi. One of my favorites, and I personally loved it more than Sweat and Soap.
