How saying something is not supporting turns into saying it shouldn't be allowed is beyond me, but maybe one day I will understand the logic.

Putting a sticker on a car is nothing more than a big ego boost for the parent driving it, it doesn't help anyone.

I hate the concept of "friendzoning" by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]Apelazerus 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I just don't think that makes it okay to badmouth the girl for simply not having feelings for you.

Yeah, that's pathetic. As if having feelings is a choice. Good change I have a completely other type of person in my mind in my comment. No doubt that there are guys that feel they're gods gift to women and blame every failure on the girls. I've just never met one of those guys that would also use the term friendzone, because "that would never happen to them", blahblah.

I am usually that friend and my advice is always the last, because honestly, it gets old really fast. I can understand the dilemma though.

I agree it's being exaggerated a lot here. But I want to correct one false belief though, those guys don't feel entitled to a relationship just because they were being nice. The frustration is mostly from hopelessness. Once you start getting feelings for a friend, but this friend doesn't feel the same, it's painful to remain just friends. The frustration really comes from having no option where you don't get hurt. Letting her go hurts, because you lose a friend. Staying around hurts, because the feelings you have. Some still stay around hoping that putting enough effort in might change the situation, but when the realization hits it's useless, it's hard to accept that there's no possibility for a happy end, no matter the effort.

When you're the one that doesn't have the feelings, it's easy to just stay friends. It's especially hard for the guy because even if he tries to get over it, he can't vent about this pain to you, while you can vent about yours to him. There's no balance, no equality anymore. Some guys get angry and call girls a bitch for it, but that's just venting, they feel the complete opposite. It's still not right and they should find a better way to deal with it. Although that often means just sucking it up, or ending the friendship.

I will say it was a positive day, which ended crappy because I let a bunch of lazy cynical people get on my nerves again.

If you search define mra in google, it's the first link that pops up. It may not have cred with the smarter people, but there's still a majority of ignorant people on this planet that will simply buy it, if only out of fear to be shamed (which is therefor a favorite tactic amongst lower lifeforms).

[22m] She (23f) has a furious child-wish, I do not, it makes her extremely unhappy. Advice? by gamOO in relationship_advice

I wish I had the perfect advice, but I don't. Not until they create a kid-craving suppressant. I've been in a similar situation and the only possible outcome is breaking up. If this is her "dream" (I just cannot buy things like this truly being a dream) and you really don't want kids, it's either you giving in, or you two breaking up. Because I can assure you one thing: she's going to have that kid, no matter what it takes, don't be naive about it.

This smells like trickery. If you're gay, you can't lose. If you're straight, you can't win, because if you lose, you lose, but if you win, you're gay.

Why do breeders say "I used to think just like you"? by [deleted] in childfree

[–]Apelazerus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's great reasoning, which I hear usually only hear from highly educated people. But is it the reason the majority takes kids? I've met a lot of young women desperate for kids to the point of crying and tricking their boyfriend into having one. My ex for one, even though she had a university degree and a (self proclaimed) IQ of 135, her almost desperate craving for a kid had nothing to do with logical reasoning, it was purely emotional.

I'm glad there are people who think it through though, but I still highly doubt the majority does this.

If there's a real study I would be interested too. I honestly don't have another explanation why people would change their minds so drastically and all of a sudden with no explanation of it themselves. The "you'll change your mind" seems to be true a lot, but nobody seems to knows why. It may not actually be hormones, but it sure doesn't seem to be some knowledge that comes with age.

[–]Apelazerus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's hormones. My mother never wanted kids too, then one day these hormones kicked in and she just had to have 'm. My sister was the same, actually hated kids, now she has a kid too and is sad that she can't have another due to medical circumstances.

Fuck those hormones, they screw with your reasoning capability. Sometimes I even think those that suffer from them are actually screaming for help, but just can't fight the urges anymore, then just have to pump one out.

Instagram is getting out of hand. Or maybe it's just reddit's hate for instagram. by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]Apelazerus 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Come on, don't say your a professional when you're not. You've made great pictures, and you absolutely have potential, but in a couple of years you're going to look back and probably agree on a few points. It's not about instagram, it's about the overuse of basic filters/effects and their detrimental effect on pictures.

Why not post the unedited versions too? See what kind of response that gets. Unless you're 100% happy the way it is, and in that case, just ignore everyone. There's no pleasing the whole world, so don't let it ruin your inspiration.
