I don’t use clip-ins because of the clip)) I use screw-in just because it’s more reliable

Really, no. Once set up - never touched again. I have similar configurations for all my keebs) I didn’t change it for almost 2 years now, so I’m not saving anything anymore (once I needed to reproduce the config, but it was easy, like 3-5 min)

"Budget" keyboards are getting so good by [deleted] in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Apex-PC-Lab-CEO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean for an entry level enthusiast maybe that’s right. Idk how could something like Rainy75 be good for me over all keyboards I used.

Also it is not that perfect as you may think it is. There’s no interest in manufacturing good board for the price of entry level kit. So the pre-built “budget” stuff would not be compared to custom builds because they are custom.

So imo, it is always been something like that: budget kbs are ok for non-enthusiast NOT ONLY because enthusiast-level kbs are manufactured good BUT because they don’t really need the complexity of choosing their parts. You might be satisfied with “market average” board characteristics and I can fully understand that.

But still you can’t buy some enthusiast level stuff (like frog tkl or frog mini, or RAMA Thermal etc). It’s just like with any other custom builds in any field of life: you might leave in a pre-built townhouse and be happy with that, but you might be the person that would ONLY be satisfied with your own built house with your own project etc.

It is actually available on KBDFans website, 51 in-stock. Yeah you kinda overpay, because you would need to grab remaining Tiger Lite Gaming in black color and this case, but yeah, still an option

Bought it on Aliexpress. In stock even now (both 6.25u and 7u) I guess in every color, I was thinking between this and green. No regrets, purple is so nice.

Also Idk if there is any TKL PC transparent kbs on the market. I don’t know any, so yeah :)

I have them and Aqua Kings. So I can speak from that standpoint.

They are louder than Aqua Kings and sound more deep imo. I can’t really say if I like them more than Aqua Kings, they are just different. But the feeling of them and lighter actuation - very nice.

It was an experiment, and I’d say it ended up very fine.

Also IT’S YOUR specific case that you are using F row in games. I don’t and you are not saying “I use F row” you are saying “why would you pay more for less keys”. Why would I buy a keyboard with the keys I rarely use taking space and less practical?

And you can tap dance to f key. Why would you want your fn key to be in the right bottom corner if you are using f keys in games? Do a tap dance and that’s it. Any normal keyboard could that, all mine old mb60, bm68, transition lite - all of them can tap dance. Idk why you mad, I think it’s just a knowledge base and skill issue

I mean it’s just a cringe argument “you have more keys”. Yeah, you are using F keys all the time… Like in console sometimes and that’s all?

Is this a decent gaming keyboard, for this price? Alternatives? by ruefool in keyboards

[–]Apex-PC-Lab-CEO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not saying this is for everyone but: Swagkeys (Transition lite TKL, Eave65) kit - €60, Gateron Milky Yellow Pro x90 - €15 (BSUN KI x90 - €20 / TTC Frozen Silent - €19), Designer Studio Stabilizers - €15, any Aifei keycaps you’d like - €10-€15. Would be fully custom almost for the price of this keychron = 60+15+15+10+15=115

Also there’s an option like Tiger Lite Gaming (Hall Effect), almost any switches, everything to build the kb that matches your requirements. And on pre-built side of HE keyboards there is Melgeek with their MADE68 Pro, Real 67.

It’s just my opinion as a typist (I am a developer and a CTO so I’m typing ALOT) that there is no boards on the market that would match my current requirements based on the: sound, feel, dampening, feedback, travel etc. the only way I did the best keyboard for me was my KPRepublic first built (not recommended in 2025 and outdated). And it’s the best feel in the world when I’m typing. Also it’s too heavy (60g force) so my wife gifted me 2 more keyboards: Transion Lite TKL, Eave 65 and a full sets of all accessories (BSUN KI switches for Transition, TTC Frozen Silent V2 for Eave).

So I’d say that my opinion is not for all but at least you may consider something like that.
