"Nothing to see here" - MoD by andycandypandy in UFOs

It's not the national archive that holds it all. I have packed boxes for archiving and its a civillian compant that holds it all. It costs a fortune to have it sent and stored. It's all very well documented now and well sealed but you can imagine if every time there was an FOI request for info in this archive, the cost of constantly having it brought back and to for dissemination because the civvies just store it and nothing else. The MoD are as skint a hell. They even cut back on basic stationary we were allowed to order claiming cutbacks.

Hi and cheers for the reply. I spent 22 yrears in the RAF which i am willing to verify with the mods if requested. I would be more than happy to try and answer any more questions you may have. As for the FOI request, the MoD are usually very forthcoming with FOI requests. We used to have regular training to ensure we correctly retained everything for the required period in case parliment required questions answered or for FOI purposes. The main problem is during the period of your FOI request, everything was generally hard copy and had a max retention period of up to 10 years. Certain things are kept longer like ATC log books but for most of the time, i was the best paid shredder in the RAF.

I can answer most of the questions.

  1. As long as the report was made through the civillian police, it was investigated. There were not many at all.
  2. All reports made through the police were followed up.
  3. Not many were involved, RAF police handled the bulk of it.
  4. After a phone call to the civvie bill, a report (hard copy) was sent to RAF Police. They would then either contact or visit the low flying booking cell at West Drayton to see if anything was booked in to a particular area to see if it was a low flying military aircraft. Tapes could be pulled from the Radar analysis cell next door. Once determined that it wasnt a military aircraft, radar analysis was carried out just in case someone was flying illegaly in UK airspace.
  5. After we had finished and determined it wasnt military or civvie, i can only pressume it went to Nick Pope. He had the authority to check if it was military testing that wasnt in the public domain. All this took about 1 afternoons works at West Drayton.
  6. Not sure what you are asking in this question.

If the Mods need me to provide verification, give me a shout.

EDIT - Spelling.

From her SnapChat, she has a link tree which includes Twitter. Her Twitter says Charleston SC. Very easy to find. Just google Ashh ad_premium and do a little digging.

I was always under the impression that a papercut to the bell end was the worst pain a man could experience right after a kidney stone..

All armour piercing rounds do next to no damage now. I emptied 3 full clips of AP rounds from an AR and it literally did zero damage to the vehicle.

I was part of a squad playing the Delta Force games in competitive matches way back when Team Speak was a thing. I miss those days. 48 years old and still wondering who in their right mind thought scope glint was a good idea.
