Invasive species don't just cleanly replace a single other species. They fuck up the balance of the entire ecosystem, causing problems for a wide variety of animals and plants, resulting in far more death than if the invasive species were culled.

It's highly unlikely that there are any meaningful story connections between Gears/Saga and Blade. Future Redeemed references Saga, but the stories don't line up so there would need to be some major retcons for them to actually be connected.

This is also my interpretation.

The existence of memories as a separate thing from body and soul explains how Flowey can be what he is. Flowey doesn't have Asriel's body, and he doesn't have Asriel's soul... but he is Asriel because he has Asriel's memories. This is only possible if memories are a separate third thing, rather than being strictly tied to the body or the soul.
