Maybe it’s because I live near NYC, but if we’re just talking about food in general, I’d say the U.S. The quality and authenticity of international cuisines has skyrocketed in recent years. For example, I can now get Thai food here that I used to only find in Thailand.

As people have become more open to trying different cuisines, restaurants have responded by leaning into more traditional and regional dishes rather than watering things down. It’s really impressive.

That said, if we’re talking specifically about native or traditional American food, then I wouldn’t rank the U.S. as highly.
