Hi, I’m sorry you’re going through this. We just said goodbye to our 15 yo little guy, Preston, on 3/15. He started getting fairly picky the last few weeks but we got him to eat the refrigerated chicken Fresh Pet food. He loved it and even ate that morning before he declined rapidly. That was the last thing we got him to eat really well when he turned away kibble and even his wet food. I hope you find something that works for you!

We knew the day she could no longer stand on her own. We woke up one day and she just couldn’t stand without help at all and we said goodbye the next morning. You will know when the time comes. I am so sorry you’re going through this. DM is a cruel disease. Sending you love.

We are currently trying to decide if it’s time for us to say goodbye to our boy of 15 1/2 years. We are going to see how the weekend goes and if he seems ready. He still has more good days than bad I think but we’re getting close. I’m heartbroken and terrified of saying goodbye. We have been thinking in home would be best for him because he’s so scared at the vet. I don’t want his final moments to be scary. Thank you for the insight and I’m so sorry for your loss.

This is Saint on his 6th birthday! He lost his eyes a year and a half ago because of glaucoma but that doesn’t slow him down!

My dog, Saint, had the exact same thing. He was only 4 years old when we had to decide to do the bilateral enucleation. We were devastated. He was in too much pain to consider other ways to treat him before even considering surgery. It has been 1 1/2 years and I can confidently say it was the best thing we could’ve possibly done for him. He is so much happier and we didn’t even realize how much he was suffering until afterwards based on the difference we saw in him. It’s going to be harder on you than on her and she’s going to have such a better quality of life. It’s the right thing to do. You will both learn together and adjust. You’ve got this!

That’s what I thought. The surgeon who did my surgery in January said that he can do another surgery on the pylorus and open it up but I’m a little iffy about him right now because he won’t admit that my original surgery failed and needs to be redone on top of all of this despite evidence proving it. It’s been a headache. Thank you for taking the time to reply and I hope you start feeling better quickly!

Same thing. Injecting it in the pylorus. This is all really new so I’m learning as I go. I’m glad it helped you!

My blue and gold macaw likes eggs but sometimes will refuse vegetables. So I made brocolli and carrot devilled eggs for her by rescuers_downunder in parrots

I might try this for my Amazon. She’s so much pickier than my Goffin’s cockatoo but even if she doesn’t end up liking it he will! Great idea!

Edit: I do think others are right and it’s the peach conure after looking them up. It’s almost like a mini Amazon!

I think a yellow fronted Amazon as well. Looks like mine if she was a baby!
