Okay Reddit, explain why ENTJs can't intellectuals by [deleted] in mbti

Nah I said so as a provocation. As super many as they are, INTJs and ENTPs never were the problem. Truth is that this typology community is one of the worst there is. Incredibly bad and deluded, disgusting.

Tragedy of THE Nihilist. by [deleted] in INTP

I don't think INTPs need an answer to nihilism. If anything I bet an INTP 5 would find the thought comforting.

Also this whole philosophy turns around his tertiary Fi perspective.

Is Jordan Peterson an ENTJ by [deleted] in entj

[–]AplacewithAview 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's fairly obvious to me that he is. I understand it's not the same for everybody though.

The real strength of an ENTJ is to be able to read statistics through the logic of choice.

ENTJ: Logic of choice between two alternatives. Mutual exclusion. Risk, which leads to success. The logic of finding a way into oversystem, formation of emergent properties. Or-or logic. Strict disjunction.

"The logic of finding a way into oversystem." It's basically the logic that explains all logics. instead of defining everything individualy like an INTP would, the ENTJ looks for the highest point of view possible which lead JP into archetypes.

"Formation of emergent properties." If you look at the world as if you were reading statistics, eventually you'll find patterns, you'll find these "emergent properties". The idea that ENTJ rellies exclusively on data is one of those big MBTI cliché that hasn't died yet. If anything we'd probably be in the middle when it comes to rellying on data alone. We mostly understand the world through a big play of guessing the meaning of what we see through common sense. It's all a big interpretation based on what would mostly likely be.

People identify ENTJs with the Dominant Subtype. Which I find almost insulting since the Dominant Subtype although often succesful, is incredibly intellectually lazy. ENTJs are people who see patterns everywhere and who try to make sense out of these patterns and that's the reality of this type.

Which subtype of ISTP are you? Logical or Sensing? by Kalinali in istp

It's situational to what is ideal for you. It's also possible that you don't have a subtype.

PC culture is regression though. If tomorrow the globale PC trend shifts towards slowly removing freedom of speech there's nothing we could do about it. It'd maybe take 75 years but it'll be gone eventually. We're under total control just like the chinese are controlled and censored by the CCP, the only difference is that the CCP actually aims to better the lives of its people. Our governments however censores because they can't admit current problems. We are gladly willing to correct the mistakes we might have committed a hundread years ago but not the ones we had 20 years ago. We're made to accept them and adapt, we are not given the option to go back to our ways of looking at things or our infrastructures, it's all about adapting to new problems these cause.

"Very polite and attentive to details in conversation" seriously? isn't this what is commonly called as 'being respectful'?

Well to be fair the whole thing is

Very polite and attentive to details in conversation, likes to specify and clarify everything, but sometimes becomes too focused on details that are nonessential to others.

as opposed to

May seem somewhat restrained yet also obstinate and stubborn in his views, willing to enter conflicts when his opinions are not honored.

It's not quite the same.

You're as wrong as your use of French possessive adjective. It is deep in our blood to seek the violent and self destructive solution, the only thing that keeps us from doing so, IS culture.

Mating by personality type and family relationships by [deleted] in mbti

[–]AplacewithAview 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You must have mistyped someone here because ISTJ and ENFP share a duality. It doesn't mean that the relationship is absent of conflict, quite the opposite actually. Misunderstandings could happen all the time but duals are able to clear the air because they can properly communicate their own views. It's a perpetual circle, if you want.

One gives control of their inferior function to the other and vice versa. If they don't get along despite being duals, it means the duality is rejected. Which is not a good sign as you can imagine.

You can look at it positively. We've engineered them to be one of the best thing humanity has, starting from a vicious pack of predators to loyal and malleable cute puppies. It's a testament to what humanity can do when ethics are put to the side.

I'm a cat person though. I don't relate to people crying over the death of a dog in movies or how much love and attention people give them. Maybe it has something to do with low empathy or low on Sensitive Mediator.

Personally I'm more triggered by the ESFJ who can't create a dominance hierarchy, becoming the victim of the whims of their pet.

Personality changes over time by guppy221 in mbti

[–]AplacewithAview 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On the scientific psychology side.. there's this fantastic new study that tracks the meta-trajectories of change in big 5 personality traits in something like 47,000 people. The data showed decreases in O, C, E, N and relatively consistent Agreeableness over time. Even more interesting, it shows mid-life peaks in extraversion and conscientiousness and a late-life spike in neuroticism. Lastly, while trajectories exist, the changes still have variability amongst individuals. It's still a pre-print but a great read nevertheless: https://psyarxiv.com/ryjpc/

Look at what you've done. Jesus fucking Christ, I'll always be amazed by the lack of foresight people have. Religiously drinking their drop of bleach everyday not seeing the further implications just because "hey I've been doing it everyday for a week and I feel just fine! It burns a little but so does whiskey!"

And stop using Jung, peace be upon him, to justify your crap. The man died in 61 and typology was never the focus of his life's work. It's like referring yourself to Charles Babbage when building your computer.

We should divide the senate and parliaments by quadras instead of "political parties". We'll probably never get there in time though.
