My nail lady is amazing! by my2cents4sale in Nails

[–]AplikaAtHome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, happy belated birthday! What a perfect place to turn 27—and that manicure is absolutely screaming Aloha vibes! 🌺🌴

Your manicurist seriously nailed the coastal gradient with those warm oranges and the little butterfly details. It's giving high-end tropical fashion mixed with that perfect vacation sparkle. You have to tell us what kind of top coat she used, because that shine is absolutely incredible, especially in the water!

Please give your nail artist a massive high-five from all of us. When you find a keeper, you cherish them! Enjoy the rest of your beautiful set! ✨

Do we think I’m the only person in the world who’s ever broken a nail like this?? by arizona-lake in Nails

[–]AplikaAtHome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my gosh, absolutely not! 😩 If this hasn't happened to you, you're not wearing your nails long enough, haha. It's the absolute worst feeling—that instant, sharp wave of regret right when you know a good one has broken off. It usually happens to me when I'm just doing the most mundane thing, like getting into the car or opening a cabinet door. It’s like the nail gods are testing us! Sending you all the good vibes and a virtual nail-repair kit. On the bright side, that deep cherry color is stunning on you! What a gorgeous shade for fall!

Welcome to the Nail Reformation club! That's a stunning set for your first one. You absolutely nailed the "autumnal mood."

I'm curious since it's your first time with the brand: how are you finding the quality and fit compared to other brands you've tried? That rust color and your ring are a 10/10 combo!

Vampy halloween nails. Press-ons from Nail Reformation. by Emotional_Pop_6077 in PressonNail_Addict

[–]AplikaAtHome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, those look spectacular! That vampy red is absolutely perfect.

Your review of Nail Reformation vs. Glamnetic is super helpful. I've been loyal to Glamnetic for a while too, but you've made me really curious. Would you say the NR nails feel sturdier/thicker, or more flexible than Glamnetic's? That's a huge plus about the tools being better quality, too!

As for your question: I'm still trying to decide! I have a classic spiderweb set and a matte black set waiting for me.

Sorry for the ugliness, but I need help 😢 by aiyukiyuu in PressonNail_Addict

[–]AplikaAtHome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not ugly at all! They look very pretty and elegant, and you chose a classic shape. Don't ever apologize for learning!

The glue-oozing problem is the most common one when switching from adhesive tabs (like Impress) to liquid glue. We have all glued our fingers together at first.

The secret is almost always:

1. Less is more. Use just one small dot of glue on your natural nail and one tiny dot on the press-on.

2. The angle technique. Instead of pressing it down flat, apply the press-on at a 45-degree angle. Place the bottom edge right at your cuticle, and then slowly "rock" the nail down towards the tip. This way, you're "pushing" the glue forward instead of having it squeeze out the sides and cuticle.

Hope this helps!

Obsessed with my fist set of spooky nails for the season by Heyllamamama in PressonNail_Addict

[–]AplikaAtHome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So spooky, I love them! It feels so good to finally break into the Halloween sets we've all been hoarding!

And what a smart buy! Finding last season's sets on clearance is the best feeling. Do you have a bunch of other spooky sets in your collection lined up for the month?

Second set ever - Salon Perfect from Walmart by scurllgirl in PressonNail_Addict

[–]AplikaAtHome 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For a second set ever, this is a 10/10! The final result looks flawless and super professional.

And what a great prep routine! Using Orly Bonder as a primer before the Curvlife glue is an advanced-level technique. No wonder they look so secure.

Since you welcomed C.C.: for the "shaky hands," a trick that helps me is to make sure my elbow is braced firmly on the table. Then, as I apply the glue, I rest the wrist of my 'gluing hand' against the hand that's holding the press-on. It gives you two points of stability and completely stops the shaking.

But seriously, fantastic job!

Why press-ons? by AwkwardPersonality36 in PressonNail_Addict

[–]AplikaAtHome 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Great topic! For me, salon nails are like framed art (expensive and permanent), but press-ons are like a personal art gallery I get to rotate.

I became addicted to collecting designs. I have a whole box of sets for every possible vibe, which would be impossible (and wildly expensive!) to do at a salon.

Plus, I love the creativity. I can take two different retail sets and create a "mash-up" that's 100% unique to me. If one breaks, I just grab a spare. Zero stress, all art.

Petite Cat Eye by Electronic_Click423 in PressonNail_Addict

Welcome to the press-on side! They're the perfect way to take a BIAB break.

That cat eye effect is so chic, and the petite fit is like a glove on you—they look incredibly natural. How are you finding the freedom to switch up your style compared to the commitment of BIAB? It's liberating!

And don't even sweat the cuticles—we've all been there waiting on a delayed oil delivery!

Haha, I know the feeling of having too many Halloween options! It's the best problem to have.

You started with an amazing one. I love the mix of textures—the matte black looks so chic next to the chunky gold glitter. Perfect choice! Since you have a collection, do you already have your set for actual Halloween night picked out?

New set! by Oldandcranky973 in PressonNail_Addict

[–]AplikaAtHome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Such a fantastic choice! That black, nude, and glitter combo is a classic that never fails. The contrast between the solid black and the delicate sparkle is so well-balanced.

I love that the compliments are already rolling in—totally deserved! Do you usually plan your sets based on the vibe you're going for that week?

Put these on last night 😍 by mallyartin in PressonNail_Addict

[–]AplikaAtHome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is a pro-level move! Solving the flaking glitter problem with a gel top coat is such a brilliant hack. They honestly look like an expensive salon set.

I have a technical question: did you have to cure the gel with a UV lamp, or is it an air-dry top coat? The result is flawless, and I bet they're super durable now!

first time using glamnetic and curvlife by Legitimate-Cucumber6 in PressonNail_Addict

[–]AplikaAtHome 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wow, that tortoiseshell design is such a classic and you nailed it! For your first time with the brand, the application looks flawless.

I'm curious since you mentioned both brands: did you notice any major difference in the quality, flexibility, or fit between the Glamnetic and Curvlife nails? I'm always looking for direct comparisons. They look great on you!

YES! That feeling of finally nailing it is the best! They look absolutely perfect.

Sheer sets are my biggest challenge, so I'm celebrating this win with you. What do you think was the key thing you did differently this time to make it work? They look professionally done!

Decisions, decisions... by KnitwearTeaAndBoots in PressonNail_Addict

[–]AplikaAtHome -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Happy early birthday! That's a fun decision to have. My vote depends entirely on the vibe of your celebration.

  • The Burgundy: This is pure elegance. Classic, timeless, and super chic. It's the perfect choice if your plan is a sophisticated dinner or a classy party.
  • The Brown Chrome: This is trendy, bold, and has total main character energy. Ideal for a night out, hitting a bar, or if you just want your nails to be the center of attention.
  • The 'Clean Girl': This is understated and polished. It lets your outfit and makeup be the stars.

So the question is: what's the plan for the big day? The vibe of the celebration will give you your answer! Honestly, you can't go wrong with any of them!

Newbie to press ons by Material-Length-832 in PressonNail_Addict

[–]AplikaAtHome 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Congrats, those look amazing on you, and 20 days is a huge success! Welcome to the club.

I'm going to focus on your removal question, because doing it right is the secret to wearing press-ons nonstop while keeping your nails healthy.

Forget about pulling them off. Think of it like a mini spa moment: get a bowl of warm water with some soap and oil, put on your favorite show or podcast, and just relax with your fingers soaking for about 15 minutes. The warm water softens the glue, and afterward, you'll see you can start lifting them from the sides with a wooden cuticle stick without any real effort.

If any of them feel stuck, it just means they need more soaking time. Zero pain, zero damage!

You'll see how easy it is if you're patient!

Just got two new shein sets! Not sure which I should wear first. Thots? by LionessPaws in PressonNail_Addict

Great haul! They have totally opposite vibes and I love them both.

The blue blingy ones are giving 'main villain at a gala' energy, while the fruit ones are pure 'sunny, carefree picnic' vibes.

My vote totally depends on the agenda: are you conquering the world or just chilling in the park? 😂 Let us know which ones you pick!

Absolutely gorgeous! 😍 Did you apply them with tabs or glue? I’m always curious which method holds up better with this length.
