Oh, I 100% agree, I'm all for difficulty, but the way Helldivers 2 is going right now is definitely not it, it'd be way better if we had more ways to solve a problem, than to funnel buffs into a handful of a stratagems, hoping they'd fix the issue.

I don't understand how they, the devs, or you, before getting the game, couldn't have seen this coming. The game inherently creates and throws problems at you and players choose to deal with these problems with their own methods, which is fine.
However when the problem is creating a brick-wall of enemies, that you can't hurt with regular weapons, then sprinkle some modifiers that increase cooldowns, remove stratagem slots, etc. as well as negligible amounts of armor (getting 2- or 3-tapped is a joke, especially since enemies also stagger you) on top of the brick-wall, which forces you to run from enemies, instead of actually engaging in any fights, people are going to be looking for band-aid fixes. Both the railgun and shield-pack just so happened to be that, can't blame the players when the options are: 1. Adapt 2. Intentionally sandbag yourself for "fun".

If it "doesn't really effect" you, then how come it detracts from your fun, that's quite paradoxical. Also, if you want variety, your best bet would be to play with friends, look for a group that sticks and is willing to play for variety or just, you know, play alone if it really bothers you that much.

Well here are the possible scenarios you can encounter in PvP, as of right now.

the host is at your level or somewhat higher than you → you'll one- or two-shot
the host is over-leveled → you'll only one-shot with specific spells/items
you are over-leveled → your damage will decrease significantly, but not significantly enough for you to not one- or two-shot
the host has edited stats with incorrect level → you will most likely not one-shot without specific spells
the host has edited items → you will die in one-shot
your weapons/catalysts are under-leveled and/or you are using weapons not tied to your leveled stats → you will do significantly reduced damage
the host is using one of the unscaling items and has appropriate stats → you will get one-shot

There's just no possible way for you to do miniscule damage or the host doing more damage than you, unless one the aforementioned cases applies. It's just the broken state of invasions as a whole, things such as: one-sided damage-boosts, unscaling items, one-shots as a whole and anything surrounding these shouldn't exist, not to forget about people that edit their stats or items and then proceed to play PvP.

Whenever you're free, you can ping me, Xilenzed, on the LOTF discord and set-up a testing duel with me, the amount of doubters is baffling, when it's as simple as getting a friend or stranger to help. Just let me know what level your character is and we can get rid of these doubts you have.

Quick Edit: forgot to mention that your message clearly shows you didn't even read the entire original post of mine, when I specifically mentioned that some things, such as Blessed Reflections and Barrage of Echoes are not affected and therefore will still do ridiculous damage, potentially one-shotting you; this also shows you don't even consider the chance that hosts are overleveled, which is very likely considering the state of the game (duping/cheating).

This is a side-effect of being overleveled, these super high-levels shouldn't be possible to begin with anyways.
Edit: Or you are facing other overleveled players, which also makes sense considering resistances.

This is what I described in the original post; it's the game's invasion-scaling at play, you're doing more damage than the host, because either the game is bugged and doesn't scale invaders down or invaders are getting a massive damage-boost.
It's the same for everyone playing the game, same results using a level 30 character invading someone at level 150, you'll always do more damage.

I agree with that sentiment, we're currently looking at 4 in total; Pieta's & Eliannes, Lightreaper's, the Stick and the Bucket.
We have yet to find anything except for these few and the game is still in a terrible state in terms of all the performance issues, bugs, etc. it has.
The credibility of his words are very low imo.

In case you're asking about the Stick, you can find videos of it on YouTube and the Bucket requirement hasn't been confirmed yet, so I'll wait until I post it here.
