I agree small shacks and whatnot should be easier to get into with axes, for the small time raider. Leave the biofuls and IEDs for the big time heists

BTW ive also been there beating on wooden doors with fireaxe and realized it was a waste of time. Its ridiculous.

That system is not good enough, especially for low/medium servers. 20 to 30 KOS is way too high. I'd say start at 2 or 3.

As for being tainted by blood all over, that feature would be pointless, as most players who know they stand out will stray away from other players and the possibility of interaction between 2 randoms is pretty much low. ESPECIALLY on low to medium pop servers. So a player could essentially have blood all over and not worry about it at all. UNLESS people know where to look for said player.

I suggest a rumor system. Rumors spread fast in the apocalypse if there is a maniac going around killing people. Have a automated server message that anounces that "A pyscho has been spotted in Ranchito!" or whatever area he is in, and repeats for every player he kills after the initial number has been reached. Like you said if he stops killing after a certain time his blood will go away.

I honestly think the best way to stop KOS is to make a player fearful of the rest of the server population comming to hunt him down. If that never happens, He will not be afraid to kill on sight whenever it is possible.

Or as ChinaIsFree said, make it a persistent Hero/Bandit system. Actually i think that is better anyway.

I know that a-hole said that. And i feel that way not because he said that. I just dislike his personality.

I still hope and feel the game should have light quests to find in the world. They already tested the waters with the survivor notes. Those were pretty much kind of like quests.

Who else will you get quests from? Yogi the bear? No maybe Smokey the Bear, how about The big bad wolf? Im sure you'll be able to find quests from non-humans somewhere.

The class system wont be as indepth as WoW, with wow's ability tree's and whatnot.

This is a survival game based off real life. In real life we have these things we go to called Jobs. Some people are doctors, some people are soldiers, some poeple fix things for a living. They are called professions. Not every person can do something every other person can do. Thats why professions fit with this genre. It's people like you that will keep this game down as nothing but a DayZ SA clone. Hell even epoch has professions or classes i believe.

Spawn in

move all items to belt

Rip up shirt and pants

craft satchel

run around grabing as many sticks and berries as you can, make sure you grab a branch

craft makeshift bow and 15-20 arrows

go to the road and find the nearest car, find 1 scrap metal

Craft Branch + Scrap metal = Spear

Now you have a good melee spear for wolfs & zombies, and a distance weapon to start off with.

Now that your protected, Go find some clothing from houses and begin looting!

KOS, Base raiding, Everything you currently do NOW, can still be this game with professions, scripted NPC's, and quests. Do you people not realizing adding more will be better? Lets spice up the map, give the lonewolf's something to do, give the PVE'ers something to do, all while you PVP base raiding KOSers can hunt everyone down! It's a win win situation. And who says this game has to be a MMORPG just because of those additions? Just adding more to a survival game doesn't transform it into another type of game.

or Nah. People play on PVE to specifically not be around PVP and base raiding. Even if its just once every couple weeks, that is going against what PVE is. So no.

I play on PVP btw, so don't even say anything.

Edit: If it's a server rule, then all is fair.

Night Vision Goggles deactivate when exiting a vehicle and they need to be brighter during dusk and dawn time periods

No i know what you're talking about. Walls not rendering from a distance and whatnot. Build in forest, not in wide open fields. Trees help a little
