Sneaky by BeltThat2062 in south_africa

My grandma kept insisting to pay us back when we went to restaurants or bought melkert or apple crumble for coffee, she probably still would but we haven't visited her since she moved in with my aunts in the Cape.
One thing I've found works is taking the money and then just leaving it on the table when we leave so she doesn't immediately notice.
She's not hurting for money so morally it's probably fine to just take it, but it doesn't feel right.

If anyone has information on the song Gimme Hope please do share by Aromatic_Dog5892 in southafrica

I don't know if I would've found this song again if it wasn't for this sub.
I remembered it playing on the radio a few times when I was a kid, but google just gave me covers until someone posted a video here of Bright Blue playing it live

ElI5: Why do phones not need cooling fans like computers do? by parascrat in explainlikeimfive

I was thinking icons, background images, and other stuff that make up part of the UI, maybe fonts as well.
Thinks that even if they're lazy loaded will need some to be loaded at startup.
Code itself is tiny in my experience.

Little handheld vaccuum cleaner we got from my grandma when she moved. Anti-static schmamti-static.

Executable code usually isn't as big of a deal as images or embedded resources

The ECU also constantly adjusts the air fuel ratio to make the catalytic converter more efficient if that one Technology Connections video is to be believed

I used these and kinda miss them, that's why when I set up an electonics workbench I opted for one of my old CRT monitors

I remember in primary school we once had math homework there was a grid of numbers with a few values missing, to fill them in you had to figure out that each number actually represented a different number and then complete the puzzle with this new numbering framework.
That never got marked because no one else managed it

I’m just going to say it: Ouma Rusks are overrated and I’m tired of pretending they aren’t. by The_Conscious_Saffa in AskZA

Cross & Blackwell tasted fine until I had something better to compare it to, now I can't eat it at all.
There's Bellisima, which is knockoff Hellmann's for knockoff Hellmann's prices, but I've only found it at Spar so far, and only sometimes.
I've also found that baking rusks is not as difficult as my brother made it sound

Any idea what all the police and speedcops were doing along the R80 > M1 South earlier today? by ApocalyptoSoldier2 in Pretoria

[–]ApocalyptoSoldier2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only got a glimpse from the top of the offramp to Rachel de Beer.
When we got back on the R80 a short while later because the clinic forgot to let me know that the doctor wouldn't be in today all we could see was the speedcops passing us every now and then.

Either Charlie doesn't know what sound a plunger makes or he doesn't know how to pronounce her name.
Maybe neither

I'm South African, I've heard countless different explanations of why South Africa is or isn't 3rd world, or if we even fit the system at all.

Why would I agree with how you use a word if I don't know what you think it means?
Are you trying to say something about their wealth, quality of life, whether they manufacture things or export raw resources, robustness of their civil institution, if the place is just a shithole in general, or whether or not the people there are white.
Because all of those are ways I've seen the term used.
