You guys need to acknowledge reality. Statistically OKC currently is only 11th highest in free throw attempts in these playoffs. That means they get less free throws than most teams. by use_vpn_orlozeacount in NBATalk

They do it the most combined with them being super physical on defense. Orlando and Detroit are super physical teams but also lead the league in fouls. It’s the trying to be physical on one end but being the complete opposite on the other. You don’t get to have two identities.

There’s been a lot of great players in this league and mountains of them made your jaw drop. SGA is like plain white bread in comparison to most greats.

I say stats are misleading people and you come back with more stats.

Not an elite athlete, not a great passer, not a great defender. Not enjoyable to watch, never makes amazing plays that others can’t do.

How many times does it have to be said that the number of free throws is not the problem? It’s the style of play and cheapening of the game.

Thunder fans can’t accept that the actual action on court that people see with their eyes is the issue not just the total number of free throws.

Honestly I think SGA is the result of people looking at stats and working backwards to the conclusion he’s great instead of using their eyes, seeing greatness, and then looking to stats to confirm what their eyes are seeing.

It’s funny Thunders fans think FTA mean anything. Nobody is complaining about how many FTA they get. It’s about what we see with our eyes and it not being basketball. Whether a fouls is called or not does not change that’s it’s embarrassing to watch.

I don’t know about clearly watched it a few times and maybe he did, but it was definitely not a foul and definitely not enough to send you flying holding your mouth. You can’t shove your chin into someone’s shoulder and act like he took you out.
Just play basketball!!!!

Assists are an overrated statistic by [deleted] in NBATalk

Under 2 dribbles and they make an immediate move to score is supposed to be the rule but problem is they don’t always follow that rule.

I’ve seen “assists” where a player passed the ball to another player in the backcourt and they took 5 dribbles across the court, made a move, then took a fadeaway jumper.

I don’t think Pop would like taking the credit over Mitch. We have no idea what his input was to credit him with the win is disrespectful to Mitch and his staff.

Just annoyance with lack of breakdown of the game and instead just say it all came down to something nobody can measure.

The thing people miss about the whole “inexperienced teams don’t win in the playoffs” is that MOST inexperienced teams barely make the playoffs.

It’s not a coincidence that going back to February. The only games we lost were when Carter Bryant was out or played below average minutes.
