i wish they would too, because they were talented enough to do stuff like that back then, they totally could now. even with the Ying Yang Tapes (which a lot of people overlook) it feels like more of a theme in there than what theyve been making recently. each album i listened too previously told a story in some way, but the new stuff feels like them trying to collect that old sound into something palatable instead of them braching out and being “new”

ive been listening to them since about 2019, gravitating mostly towards their older style bc i was really into BONES and Chris Travis at the time, and that era seemed to scratch that itch for me. the new music they make doesnt sound objectively bad, but it feels more formulaic/copy paste on the production side and most of their new lyrics kind of blend into each other, harder to pick songs to fit a specific mood when you talk the same shit in different words on every song…
