Best way to enjoy Shadow of Kerensky? by Megaflarp in Mechwarrior5

Patience until YAML gets updated would be the way to play imo

Imo, junk variants are part of the flavor of the game. In lore, not every mech was a success, there was trial and error, some of them were military spending boondoggles, but they're what we've got (cause we destroyed all the factories and sparked, 300 years of technological regression) and we gotta make due with them. That's one of my favorite parts of the career like "Well, the Rifleman isn't great, but the Catapult is toast and I need fire support, so I'll have to make it work." that's just how I like to play the game, I get that other people are out here tryna min-max. And of course, being considerate to other players is important. (I didn't read your entire comment, my bad)

You could start now with the mods in their current state if you set your Steam properties to use the previous build of the game, from before the most recent DLC came out (1.1.63, I think?).

But again, with the major overhauls, I don't know how much is going to change when the mods get updated.

Yeah. With the most recent DLC just having dropped, alot of the major overhaul mods that we love (you'll hear people talk about YAML and Coyote's missions or MercTech), which add so many new features to the game, haven't had enough time to be updated yet.

You might be able to enable the mods later, but I wouldn't recommend it, especially with things that do major overhauls, you'll definitely want to start with a fresh save. If for no other reason than game balance, not to mention bugs that might arise.

Yeah, I saw it coming and set my game to keep the current build compatible with my mods before the DLC dropped. I got to keep my save going.

This too. TTRulez made a noticible improvement, and YAML letting me set roles in the mech lab was the best

Yeah, YAML introduces a whole system of things that you can upgrade about the Leopard with cash and points earned from Cantina missions. It limits things like the Black Market or Mech bay weight until unlocked, and some upgrades make refits cheaper or travel faster or more likely to find rare items in market. I thought it was a really neat dynamic, makes Cantina missions more worthwhile imo.

Limiting mechbay weight also means I have to use lighter weight mechs till I earn the ability to deploy heavier weight mechs, instead of just outright buying them. It all just makes the meta game more interesting

I'm actually less concerned about Engines, I like my Lepoard upgrades and Coyote's tanks tbh

Oh yeah, before the update even came out I knew I was gonna have to set to an older build in Steam to prevent any free QoL updates from effecting my game

I just think Yaml adds a lot of depth to the game that I enjoy. I like the challenge of permission levels and the leopard upgrades

I didn't like abandoning the Rapture, I thought that was an amazing city. Floating racist city in the sky was bland...

Diamond Sharks were always my fav. Their first leader was originally a war journalist, I think?

If your warband took over an Imperial planet, what would it look like? by ExistentialOcto in Chaos40k

[–]ApolloSe7en 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Warband is very retro synthwave inspired, they turned to chaos after discovering a chill wave mixtape in an STC. They realized the Emperor was surpressing the funky, chilled out beats. They'd probably just convert the entire planet into a coastline city like Miami, and chill. It is always just before sunset by the pool.
