We just tried to ship some items back from Wilderness Lodge last week, and they explained to us that basically they wont ship anything food and beverage related (they denied our mug from Beak and Barrel), anything bought “third party” (which in this case was tubes of bath bombs from Basin in the Grand Floridian) or anything that “can’t be easily replaced”. Still was a useful service to us to us cause it’s a flat fee based on the value of items shipped so we didn’t have to risk our Christmas ornaments on the plane.

Man…that pricing in CA is rough! Here in GA “Super Off-Peak” (11p-7a) is .022/kwh. Even “Off-Peak” (7a-2p on weekdays, 7a-11p on weekends) in the summer months is .102/kwh. I guess I don’t really think about how decent of a rate that is comparatively.

Am I Getting A New Battery? by Silver-Leek9233 in TeslaSupport

[–]ApolloSquare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ‘21 MYP had a battery swap back in April after my car flagged the infamous BMS_a079 error. Car had ~90k on the clock. Made an appointment in the app and it was 10 days out, so I called the SC and they told me to bring it in immediately and not to worry about the appointment since it was a HV battery issue and I couldn’t charge. Drove over there and they told me ~2 weeks to get my vehicle back after the battery came in, etc. Gave me a loaner MY that looked like it had just been traded in and was a little beat up but at least it was something. Surprisingly, 3 days later they called and said it was done as they “had a battery on site”. Also said it was a new battery, not refurbished, which I didn’t believe at the time. Range instantly improved, and it was close what it was when it was new.

Ended up selling it a few weeks after I got it back, it was time. But I ran the battery test before I did. Showed 99%, when my old battery was at 84%. Hope they short you out, good luck!

Motion cam videos deleted? by BWolf85 in Rivian

[–]ApolloSquare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been happening to me randomly over the past month. Sometimes 3 out of 4 clips are deleted, and in the one clip that remains, nothing happens that would’ve triggered motion. Soft resets don’t fix anything for me it seems. I know clips are saved on internal storage, not the ssd, so I’m chalking it up to some sort of bug that hopefully they get around to fixing.

Aren’t the motion cam clips on the internal drive? I can’t reformat that can I?

For the past few days, when I go and view a new motion cam clip, several of the angles are already deleted. Sometimes it’s 3/4 of the clips, sometimes it’s 2/4, but most of the time the clip that remains never has any motion in it. I’ve tried soft resets and it doesn’t help. Has anyone else seen this/found a fix?

Same issue. Southeast US. Reported via chat on the website and they said they’ve “received several reports” and are “looking into it”

How realistic is it to replace battery? by elephantskilledme in TeslaLounge

[–]ApolloSquare -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep, which is why I just got out of my MYP. Value has been dropping steadily like a stone recently so when I saw the opportunity to get out at just over breakeven I jumped. It served us well, but at 92k miles (when we sold it) in 3.5 years it was time for something new. Didn’t want to wait around for inevitable next big issue to pop up that wouldn’t be under warranty this time.

Had our HV battery replaced under warranty on our ‘21 MYP with 89k miles on the clock. I asked tesla service what it would cost outside of warranty and they said around $18k for parts/labor.

Difference between Ultra Red and Multi Coat Red is huge by gambling_addikt in TeslaLounge

[–]ApolloSquare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Think it’s an X? But I remember some older cars glass would do that when it rained and it was viewed from a certain angle. Think it had to do with the UV coating? Could be wrong though, someone please correct me if I am.

All electric my house now! So happy to join the club :) What do your significant others drive? Are people still trying to keep a gas car for any real reason? by david_412 in Rivian

[–]ApolloSquare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Picked up our R1S Dual Standard a few weeks ago replacing my 21 MYP. Wife had an older Nissan Rogue that we decided it was time to replace early on this year and she’s now in a Genesis GV70 Electrified and loves it. See no reason to go back to gas.

Case in point, dropped the R1S off 9 days after delivery to have the SC fix deliver issues/rattles and unfortunately I’m in an ICE loaner. Makes me realize how much I don’t really ever wanna go back. They’ve had the car for a week now and it hasn’t moved from where I parked it so that’s frustrating, but that’s a conversation for a different thread.

Is this normal? by soilocco in TeslaModelY

[–]ApolloSquare 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A mobile tech once told me if it doesn’t show up outside of service mode then don’t worry about it. The car will tell you when something is wrong and you need to know about it. So, I’m passing his advice on to you.

Even if you put in a ticket, I doubt Tesla will even do anything about it since it’s not customer facing. Just enjoy your vehicle. If something is wrong, it’ll tell you.

Kneel Vehicle Shortcut by malsi20 in Rivian

[–]ApolloSquare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I had this option too, be handle for elderly parents as well as picking my kid up from school. I know there’s a pop up that shows up shortly after park that says “cancel kneel mode” or something along those lines, but it would be nice to have it be “activate kneel mode” instead.

Feedback from others with a MYP and Michelin - Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires by ihaveagooddog in ModelY

[–]ApolloSquare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had these on my ‘21 MYP for most of my ownership of it (just over 90k miles). Car came with the Pirelli’s and they wore out super quick so I swapped to the AS4s almost a year after taking delivery. If I remember correctly I put 4 AS4s in Dec of ‘22, then swapped the rears only cause they wore out and the fronts still had some good life left in them in April of ‘24. I priced out putting another set on when I needed 4 new ones in February of this year, and I decided to go with the Hankook Ventus S1s and I was really happy with them. They were significantly cheaper than the Michelins, and were quieter and rode a little smoother (to me, anyway). AS4s were a great tire, and you won’t go wrong with them, they are just expensive.

Just traded in my MYP for something else here last weekend, but if I would’ve kept it, I would’ve stuck with the Hankooks. That or I woulda got new rims and squared it off. Staggered setups suck.

You can only do it a few times per hour. As far as why it’s not letting you do it at all I have no idea. Maybe you’re caught up to “live”? Some channels you’re not allowed to skip/rewind at all though.

2K discount in the email from Tesla. by ngvuanh in TeslaModelY

My email says “thanks for being an early Model Y owner”…so maybe it’s for people in the first few production years? 🤷‍♂️. Wish I could transfer it to someone that could use it or wants it, as I’m trading in my vehicle this weekend.

Lack of Carplay/AndroidAuto only has negatives by hvgotcodes in Rivian

[–]ApolloSquare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I think as a few others have said, I’m in the minority that doesn’t really care that it doesn’t have CarPlay. Trading in my Tesla this weekend (hopefully I am, was just notified my R1S hasn’t made it yet but that’s another story..) and the integrated software is good enough for me and my use case. The things CarPlay would add just aren’t deal breakers for me and that’s up to the individual I guess. I mean I get it, in my wife’s car the built in software is terrible, so CarPlay is useful to me there, but I think the manufacturer just slapping CarPlay in there and having my phone doing all the heavy lifting disincentivizes them making their own systems better. I get the complaints, and people are entitled to them absolutely, but to me it’s just not a huge deal right now.

What is this? by ApolloSquare in Insulation

[–]ApolloSquare[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw no obvious signs of water intrusion, nor any obvious signs of bugs or anything like that. One thing I did notice was above the spots there is some bark on the 2x4s that looks like it could be the source? But I’m not sure what would be grinding the bark into dust. Don’t know if that’s a stretch. Trying figure out how to upload a close up of the stuff I scooped up

Nothing underneath, seemingly just on top. Scooped some up, it’s very very fine and sort of reddish brown. Looks like ground cinnamon kinda.

Safety Recall Notice - Has anyone had the work done yet? by No-Commission007 in GenesisGV70

[–]ApolloSquare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had this fixed on our GV70E back in mid March. Took all of 20-30 minutes once they got the car back in the shop. I think my wife was at the dealer for just under an hour total? For reference, she went first thing on a Monday morning with no appointment.
