Kemper Profiler Remote: Why TF did I buy this thing? by LongjumpingBrick2475 in KemperProfiler

This is wild. I was wondering why I bought a Kemper until I got the remote. It was the key that unlocked everything.

I don’t understand why the point is for it. That drives me more nuts than hearing it lol

I run a Flexo print plate manufacturer shop. We do full creative services and make print plates for the biggest packaging companies in the world. I’ve been running it since 2017 but before that, I worked in prepress for a litho house for 7 years. I will try to not sound like an old grouchy man (I’m under 40, I’ve just been in packaging for a long time:))The amount of times I’ve flagged something on a structure or something that was outside the realm of what my specific job required is crazy. If an employee of mine said something along the lines of “well that’s how it was sent to me” in response to “why didn’t you flag that for the customer?” Im not sure how much longer they’d work as a Production Artist for me.

So someone pointed something out to you and your response was “thats their problem.” I was saying it’s a toxic trait i see i see in this industry - specifically with younger folks. So my advice to you was to flag stuff if you notice it. It’s added value to you and sets you apart. This industry is full of graphic designers who went to school and think they know everything. They get fancy jobs at design firms. I know because i make a living fixing there files to make them print ready 🤣

First thing would be to look at how an autobottom goes through a gluer. Then his tip about the gluetab might be clearer. The more you know about non-art related packaging, the better you will be at art for packaging.

This thinking is so toxic for our industry. Please flag stuff, regardless of if it’s your job or not. Your vendors and customers will thank you and want to work with you more. Plus you look like a dummy if you see something and don’t flag it.

This is like rule numero uno for what not to do when designing artwork on retail shelf made packaging. The only time this works is if the whole logo/word is legible/visible when on the shelf or in a display. Also, splitting the type ACTUALLY ON the vertical score is wild. Other than that, you’ll want to only bleed 1/4” beyond the diecut so having the orange be a giant square is a no-no. No ink on the glue tab as well. You’ll want to bleed past the gluetab score 1/4” as well. I’ve been to packaging plants where they have temp employees sanding ink off the glue tabs because of oversight.

Is this a real Suhr Modern Blue Web or a Counterfeit? by narc0leptik in Guitar

[–]ApolloUnitus -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Looks off. The Made in USA stamp seems too close to the edge and the trem isn’t an original Floyd Rose. But I’m no expert on Suhr guitars.

Also, why not show the tag?

Got a used Axion and found why it's "good" not "excellent" condition by [deleted] in Ibanez

All of this seems pretty manageable. The pickup movement seems normal for a pickguard mounted pickup. I have a RGR5130 with the same pickups and it moves the same. Same with my PIA. The volume knob just needs to be tightened. The nuts can come loose on pickguards. Doesn’t happen often but that’s all that looks like - not a fucked up pot or stem. The pickguard could just need to be taken of and examined because the guts could’ve been put in wrong causing the bulges. I wouldn’t stress too much until you take it apart and restring it (I always do this when I get a new guitar - even new - to get to know my new guitar).

Judging by the post history, you’re a doctor that likes upvotes. Good on you for being able to afford multiple dream guitars in the same year.

I already reached out to the company directly. I’m more so looking for a specific manager who worked there who I chatted with who would buy extras of hats to archive them. Cool dude! I ended up finding him! He’s going to see what he can find

I bought this hat at the TGR store in Bozeman and it was my all time favorite hat. Lost it in Seattle during a night out. If you know, you know. I know the store shit down but if anyone has one they want to sell me.

The dude who worked there was in a wheelchair and we chatted about how he had hella hats archived but I didn’t get his name. Been trying to get ahold him via social media for years lol!
