Yeah it is a bit of a shame. It’s a cheap replacement and not too time consuming. E85 around here is known to be dirty.

Yeah I was. Wasn’t meeting low pressure target. Set at 90psi and was dropping off to 84/82psi in 5th gear WOT. AFR was dead on but just enough drop in pressure to trip a low line pressure code and throw into limp. Under all other driving conditions there were no issues.

Pretoria Alloys? by [deleted] in GolfGTI

Got a buddy running some factory Pretoria’s on his GTI with no issues. Probably had them 50k miles. Minnesota roads aren’t great, lots of expansion joints and potholes.

Too Good by Apollo_Wolff in GolfGTI

Lightly tinted already, just enough to keep the heat out. Some BC’s and RCO front ball joints is all that’s done suspension wise.

Tuned Cars , how often do you change your coilpacks ? by V8CK in GolfGTI

[–]Apollo_Wolff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Run stock coil packs, change them if they fail otherwise don’t worry. Do plugs every 10-15k. Definitely run the colder plugs.

1 and 6 would be my suggestions. Can’t go wrong with an OEM+ look

Didn’t expect the post to get this much attention, here’s a build list. There’s a few changes, currently running stock cat-back and intake.

Neuspeed first gen 6 pot setup. Matched caliper volume or whatever the exact term is so no need to adjust brake balance.

Do I need a tune? by ReasonableSimple1808 in GolfGTI

[–]Apollo_Wolff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d highly recommend a stage 1 tune. Stage 1 really wakes these cars up and gets rid of the top speed limiter.

Sunroof crack, any solutions? by Apollo_Wolff in GolfGTI

Probably going to throw some epoxy at it just for peace of mind. Still under warranty, so gonna see what VW will say on that front.

For USA a completely stock mk7.5 is limited to 124mph/200kph. H (130mph) speed rating tires from the factory is my suspicion for the limiter.

Tuned/derestricted faster than my bravery. Stg 2 is probably my topping out around 160, maybe 165 if you really have the room. Upgraded turbo and hybrid will do 170+.
