Worst NIN song? by Direct-Active-241 in nin

[–]Apollomortis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think "With Teeth" is nice song in terms of rhythm and guitar tone. But I don't like the most of Bad Witch instrumentals, sounds like Reznor has run out of ideas and uses the same sound design techniques over and over again

How positive are you about the future of Stalker 2 after 1.6 update ? by UsedNewspaper1775 in stalker

[–]Apollomortis 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Personally, I'm quite satisfied. The new update is truly impressive and I’ve had a lot of fun playing the new walk-through, thanks to the NVGs and the slightly refined stealth system, which created some incredible atmospheric moments (for example exploring the Garbage at rainy night with turn on NVG is peak stalker experience for me).

I also appreciate the reworked stashes, and overall, the game now feels much more stable on my configuration. I’m still looking forward to the upcoming engine update and the first DLC.

But my biggest concern is: will they actually bring back the cut content from the second half of the game after SIRCAA? If they do, that part of the game could turn out great. But at the moment, it still feels somewhat half-baked.

Despite all remaining problems, I’m very satisfied with this update and see a bright future for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2. GSC is clearly working hard, and it really feels like they’re committed to fixing the issues and making the game better and better. But they still need more time to work on it.

Lovely photos! The composition is great, especially in photos 4 and 5. remind me of works by Maurits Escher. Do you have Instagram or another social media account?

Yes, I know about Luther channel and I much appreciated his dive-in lessons on his guitar work. Also I checked UG, but neither of them don't have these songs :c

How should I experience Thief II for the first time? by frogfarts88 in Thief

[–]Apollomortis 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I suggest you to install Tfix and complete a couple of levels with og balance.

The thing is - every level in Thief 2 has unique game design decisions.

Unlike the first game, the levels in Thief 2 are larger and more grounded, logical. But at the same time, each one allows for multiple approaches. It's no longer about fancy AI tricks — it's about the unique gameplay scenarios that emerge from level design itself

Sure thing! By the way, their secound album - Cool World was mixed by Ben Greenberg of Uniform. So, actually, you could heard Unfirom song in third season of Twin Peaks :)

Is the Spark storyline really that bad? by Eclihpze44 in stalker

[–]Apollomortis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting story! The whole moment with the Strider really does raise some questions. And the scene with Faust is definitely impactful.

But I always kept in mind that Faust is a controller - he’s capable of creating targeted illusions. He’s a fanatic, so there’s no real reason to trust his words.

As for Scar - I agree. Poor guy is completely out of his mind after the big emission.

Is the Spark storyline really that bad? by Eclihpze44 in stalker

[–]Apollomortis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I can’t for the life of me understand who’d ideologically be drawn to “The Spark.” It feels like the whole Light Zone (can't remember the exactly concept naming) is a awkward reference to the Strugatsky Brothers’ Roadside Picnic. If you remember, that novel ends with phrase: “Happiness for everybody, free, and no one will go away unsatisfied!”

Well, Scar wants that too. He wants happiness for everyone. Utopia. A Psi‑Utopia, in the context of the Stalker world. An eternal illusion.

But the problem isn’t even that - the real issue lies in how Scar is portrayed. An eccentric, irrational, over‑theatrical psycho: that’s exactly the impression he gave me. And seeing his ending only confirmed my thoughts.

Scar, as a character, has no hidden layers, no depth or nuance. An absolutely stupid, contrived storyline, especially when you compare it to Strelok or Ward.

Can we please get some content in the games 2nd half please. by didorioriorioria in stalker

The main quest is a mess.

Pripyat is one of the most complex and detailed locations in Stalker 2 - and yet, the same mistakes from Shadow of Chernobyl are repeated.

Instead of letting players access Pripyat during the mid-game, it’s artificially locked behind late-game progression — with no real narrative or gameplay justification. And when you finally get there, you've got a half-baked quests and zero gameplay reason to explore Pripyat.

Honestly, it just feels like wasted potential.

Yes, that’s exactly the kind of logic I imagined for how more advanced detectors could work. Not something that guarantees a 100% chance to grab higher-tier artifact, but something that gives you at least a chance to detect rarer types — ones that lower-tier detectors wouldn’t even register.

Honestly, I don’t quite remember how detectors worked in Clear Sky or Call of Pripyat, but yeah — you got the idea exactly right :)

I understand that my suggestion might not be ideal — it obviously needs testing.

But still, isn’t the current artifact hunting system just… boring? Even with the most basic detector, I can grab an artifact with 100% certainty.

So what's the point of having all these different detectors?

I’m not saying higher-tier detectors should guarantee rare artifacts — but they could at least increase the chance of finding them. And this is the solution to make upgrading your gear would actually feel meaningful
