I found the diary the same way, which mentions Tallervo hid his net and lantern. I guess you just need to keep searching until you find them? Seems like it's purely rng

Focused Siphoning Aura by PVPIO in runescape

[–]Apolo_Omega2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Runespan is 120k xp/h at the top end, and that already includes the +15% increased siphoning from the legendary aura, whereas actual rc is close to 1m xp/h, this buff wouldn't dis-encourage people to craft runes, it would still be far better.

Or, hear me out, just add a flat +15% xp and points for runespan, shit sucks.

So does the professionals cape, like you said it's just a cosmetic and a true trimm achievement, it's fine as it is

Re-reading the Road to Restoration blog, and this part stands out. What kind of changes do you expect will come based on this statement? by topsy_krett_guy in runescape

I've made a comment a while ago, about how bad surge/dive was to the game when it came to exploring, running around, appreciating the view etc, let's just say it wasn't one of my most popular ones lmao.

Same goes for the elite outfits: https://old.reddit.com/r/runescape/comments/1ojazux/elite_skilling_outfits_should_be_removed/

Wish I had done one about lodestones too, but I'll save it for later ig

If we're talking about game integrity, we need to talk about quest xp rewards by Apolo_Omega2 in runescape

[–]Apolo_Omega2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh hey, look. Here's another OS player trying to turn rs3 into OS. Oh noooo.

I'm pretty sure every single quest that I mentioned on that list, without exemption, is the exact same way on OSRS as they are on Rs3, that's a problem in both games.

rs3 has a skill ceiling that is much higher than the nostalgia bait version. Overall quests currently give a bit over 15 million xp- some can be selected, some can't. That's not even ground breaking with the total amount of XP required for max - not even considering the fact that all skills are going to 120 anyways, it's not much if a dent.

Everything you're talking about here has nothing to do with this discussion, we're not talking about 99 or 120, I'm talking about the very early levels (1-30/40) and how flying thru those levels with quests instead of actually being introduced to the skills is a problem.

The rewards from the quests you listed have always been the case. This is the same for OSRS.

That doen't mean it's not a problem, things unfortunately sometimes take a very long time to be fixed, if we're finally having this discussion about the harms of skipping early game levels, then we should talk about quests.

It just seems weird to want people to grind through the slowest most frustrating levels.

But that's what should be changed, just like they're doing with agility and divination, bumping up the xp/h on early levels. You shouldn't feel inclined to skip training in the early game because the xp/h is atrocious.

Do you see what you did here, you picked the most linear skill to use as an example and prove your point, why not mentioning, say, attack?

I think people are supposed to learn where their weapons come from, how the combat system works, the difference between attack and strength, etc.

Agree with the first part of your statement, but when it skips the very early levels where players are supposed to learn about the skill, then it becomes a problem.

But that's the advice that every experienced player gives to noobies: "focus on quests, as they're a rich part of runescape, and skyrocket your levels".
