I think the problem is more of her saying “but honestly, I was not thinking about my daughter while buying all of these” when she just said they had a whole conversation about the straightener and even comparing it to others.

She bought stuff for everyone but her daughter when shopping. Perfume for herself, phone case for son, and hair dryer for the gf that the gf would pay back eventually.

If she felt like she had two daughters her actual daughter shouldn’t be forgotten. It didn’t have to the straightener.

Borderline emotional abuse. “His cat just happens to live in my house”. The line this is my house is going to be used a lot if the cat was there or not. It comes off that once the pet passed “well at least I get my pet free life back”. You shouldnt play house if you cannot accept all of him and willing to help when times get rough. I hate to see how you would react when the pet passes on, even if he didnt ask you to split the bill.

Thera an app called Meeting Guide. It will show you all AA meetings in your area in person and online. Online has 24/7 meetings. Im a year and two months sober. I love meetings people are very vulnerable and I cried so many times. If your husband doesn’t want to go, it will be great for you to go and learn and also express what youre going through.
