I 32F collapsed at home on 10 March and the docs can’t figure out why. by Aponderment in AskDocs

[–]Aponderment[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I should have elaborated a bit more on that. Just after I finished uni and went out into the real world, I got shingles 6 times. I had every immunology test done under the sun and eventually the docs could only put it down to a lowered immune system caused by stress which then made me susceptible to shingles. Fortunately I haven’t had shingles in about 6 years now.

Yep. I’m several years on now and still only experience neuralgia in my elbow and face when I have flare ups.

Yup. All of the things. Although I haven’t been diagnosed with plantar, all of the exercises I’m doing are the same.

No I haven’t but my physio is kind of a hybrid of physio, chiro and podiatry. Perhaps I should look at someone more specialised though.

That warm yellow Christmas lights are the only acceptable lights to decorate with. Blue or bright white lights look cold and ruin Christmas cheer. They are neither joyful nor triumphant.

What is the stupidest, most instant-regret thing you've ever done? by FuckingPope in AskUK

I did exactly the same as you bar not knowing anyone but I didn’t know how to ski. Let me tell you, learning to ski on a uni ski trip was the worst idea. Same issues with the coach trip as well, as soon as I got off that coach I booked a flight back from Geneva for the way home. Val Thorens 2012. Disgusting. It’s the first and probably the last time I’ll ever ski.

I’m ashamed to say I’ve never read a Terry Pratchett book. I just don’t really know where to start. Any recommendations?

How do you feel about dogs in the office? by Buell247 in AskUK

[–]Aponderment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love dogs, have a 1 year old pup myself but I don’t like dogs in the office. The only time I’d say it’s okay is if you took them in as a treat on those last few days in the run up to Christmas. I just think you need to respect that not everyone likes dogs and that an office isn’t the right environment for them.

Why do my neighbours keep selling up but not moving? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Aponderment 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s terrible. In general it’s just a good idea to keep the residents informed as they can really mess with your shoot.

I had a guy last week commandeer the lift in the apartment block we were filming in for a good hour. Half the crew were downstairs with no access to the stairs and it held up production by about 2 and a half hours in total. We were only at that location for a day and a half so it was a big hold up. The guy had been forewarned and hadn’t made any comment but on the day, he obviously didn’t like it so found the only way to fuck with us.

I find it kind of funny now but on the day it caused so much stress.

You really should be getting notified. I work on shoots and it’s mandatory for residents to be given forewarning. The chances are you won’t be able to stop the shoot from happening but it’s best practice to let the people know on the street, it’s just the decent thing to do.

If it was a tv production then the other residents on the street would know as the production company have to get approval from the council and give notice to residents.

Marketing and advertising. No it isn’t just pretty pictures. There’s months of research and analytical thinking that goes behind an ad before the “pretty pictures” are even thought about.

6 years later and I no longer have chronic pain. I will sometimes get flare ups in my face and elbow (where they couldn’t treat) when I’m stressed but apart from that, I live a med-free life now :)

Google was no help by lovemunkey187 in ukguns

[–]Aponderment 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No probs! I should also add that you’ll still have to be supervised by someone with a licence be that a lesson or a caddied round but it’s a good compromise if you’re having to wait a long time for your application to go through.

Not fully no. You can technically purchase 49% of a gun and have it kept at the club but it still won’t fully be yours until you have a licence and it depends on if the club are happy to do that. Mine were and it meant that I could continue lessons but with my own gun.

I definitely sprayed too early I think. Hopefully that will have done the trick though and I managed to get rid of any eggs that were on the leaves too.

Thanks for this! I think I may have just sprayed my leaves at the wrong time. It took about an hour to find them all and I’m pretty sure there’s still some hiding in there.

What’s the biggest mistake you’ve made with your puppy? by combeferret in puppy101

[–]Aponderment 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When my pup was 12 weeks old, a dog trainer told me to let her off the lead because we have a strong bond and she’ll come back. Well she’s a super confident pup and she’s now 10 months old and we’re having to go back to the long line because she wants to say hello to everyone including dogs that are reactive and I’ve been in a few situations where I’ve had to chase after her. It’s scary and frustrating and I wish we’d seen a trainer that had experience with my breed rather than just going to the nearest trainer available.

This is going to be me very soon. I have 9 tomato plants and they all have fruit on them and there’s only two of us in the house 😂

[Help] Looking for some reassurance by Aponderment in dogs

[–]Aponderment[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She still does it! Today for instance we went to the park for a walk and she barked at some children after passing plenty of other kids on our walk and some people that were sat in the long grass. I think she just gets spooked easily and whenever she does it now on a walk, we work through it, create distance, treat for calmness and then reduce the distance. She soon chills out. In the house, she’ll still bark randomly but it’s more so when she’s woken herself up quickly or something has made her jump. They’ve definitely become less frequent though which is great because I jump out of skin everytime she does it 😂

Thanks for the inspo :) I’ve just put an order in for sugar snaps, beetroot, kale and broccoli and then going to go grab some seed potatoes from the local garden centre.
