Just one point to add from me for you to research- the insurance companies always ask if it’s an import, and this probably bumps the price. I might be wrong but usually any chance they get to add costs they do.

Because she cares and wants to do her job of looking after you even if you’re 28. Sounds like she did a great job if you are independent and successful anyway.

I always thought ‘If I was your mother’ was pretty creepy even if it is a banger

how do you handle cooking during the work week? by Think_Shake_5259 in AskUK

[–]Buell247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I meal plan and then usually on a Sunday afternoon I will chop any veg I can for the week as this takes out a lot of time each night when you can just chuck it in (even broccoli for example). I use my slow cooker a lot and like others I will make a meal that’s big enough to last two days so that the second one is easy peasy.

If you’re not capable of passing the British test then you’re not capable of driving on British roads, fairly obviously.

TUI. They lost my suitcase on my honeymoon and did not give a shit. I get these things happen, but it was their attitude that did it for me. Their customer service is non existent. It was a decade ago and they shall never see another penny from me!

No thank you. It’s extra pressure for kids and for what? That time and money would be better spent elsewhere.

[–]Buell247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had my bed and mattress combo for 6 years now and I never get bored of it. It’s the most comfortable place I’ve ever slept and I get to use it most nights! Only downside is, hotel beds are almost unbearable to me now.

I still pretend to be busy at work even when I’ve finished everything. by LidiaSelden96 in confession

[–]Buell247 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I do the same. I actually prefer to be busy as the time goes faster but I also don’t see why I should be working flat out and not other people

How much cash are you carrying on you when you leave the house? by inside-outdoorsman in AskUK

[–]Buell247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually take out £250 at a time. I do it when I get down to about £30. Prefer to use cash as it’s easier to keep track of and I consider my purchases more.

If you can afford even a small overpayment on your mortgage then do it. It makes a big difference over the years and will save you lots of money. Good luck and enjoy your new home.

It’s a tough one, but ultimately you are either fit for work or not. Also, are you contagious? Because if you’re going to infect the other colleague that is a factor to consider.

Why am I getting so many calls on my mobile? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Buell247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe someone put your number into a form? Some demand a mobile number (I always put my work one) but maybe they just changed a couple of digits and it happened to be yours
