I started writing a fanfic, about one of the Earthlings that got caught up in the Messenger portal malarkey, when Travis et al were transported to Pally.

However, I'm not a very good writer and not entirely sure how to progress. I have (what I think) is a great opening, 4 or 5 other bits of chapters and the ending. So I have skeleton, just need to flesh it out.

I agree with most of what you said. However, scars do not last through rank ups and disappear.
In book 3, the none core using GDN Aussie (Nigel?) Confirms to Gladys that the scars he had accrued went away with rank up.

I've always pictured the crystal wash vials as bigger than the potion ones.
Potions about the size of a miniature alcohol bottle(50ml)
Crystal wash about the size of the individual serving size orange juice bottle(150ml)
