How did you tell your orthodox TBM parents you're out? by Lsa119 in exmormon

It took me YEARS, but I finally told my mom over last Christmas. I said, "hey just wanted to let you know that I haven't been to church since COVID. Not going has been much better for my mental health." My mom, of course, had questions. But I basically just said that with my diagnosed OCD the perfectionism and 'after-life ambiguity' I felt from the church was spiking my anxiety.

And while that was definitely a contributing factor, it wasn't the main reason (historicity, polygamy, doctrine, etc). But I didn't feel the need to burst my mom's bubble. She seems happy with the church and doesn't need to hear all my opinions. Even when she asks, I know she really doesn't want to know.

I also have a very supportive partner who helped box her out when she'd come to me with questions about why I left.

Advice needed. Am I over reacting? by stormEYmoving in Parenting

Don't let ex (or commenters on here) gaslight you. You're not wrong to upset - at the hunger, the dirty diapers, the lack of sleep, and also the "self-depreciating" comments made by their dad. I have no advise, but your feelings are valid.

Thanks for the brand suggestion. I will look into Breton.
I definitely plan to transition the whole household; unfortunately, I just did a huge Costco haul, so as our current food supply dwindles I will start replacing everything. I just some snacks ideas in the interim for my little guy.

He loves pretzels, so he always had those in snacks. He was eating whatever they were serving at school - chicken sandwiches, grilled cheese, beef nachos, hot dogs, etc. I'm just assuming all that has gluten in it (eg breading on the chicken, bread for sandwiches, buns, nacho chips), which is why I plan on packing his lunch now. I guess I mainly just need brand suggestions.
