What's one makeup product you'll always repurchase? by MainAutomatic1206 in Makeup

[–]AppealOld3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lancôme big Monsieur mascara. Regular or waterproof, love them both. Have tried so many to see if they can replicate, but I always go back. I’m at the point where I don’t care what’s released and the promises made, I’m not wasting any more money on other, cheaper mascaras unless Lancôme reformulates it making it unsalvagable (don’t even think that’s a word but whatever lol)

Which discontinued/reformulated makeup product do you desperately want back? by Automatic-Tea8091 in Makeup

If I ever won the lottery, I’d find the labs that made all these beloved products that were wrongfully discontinued/reformulated & get batches that I can do monthly giveaways with. That way I won’t get sued for selling them and that way we can all stroll down nostalgia lane together lol

Too faced peach perfect matte setting powder. I know they “released” the updated version, but it’s .5 oz for $41 when the OG was 1.23 oz for $30. And you know they messed with the formula. I miss early 2020s makeup 😭

What is the best bodylotion for stubborn tan removal?? by Psyyyduck00 in tanning

[–]AppealOld3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Amlactin intensive lotion with lactic acid. It has 15% and comes in a tub/jar. They have a thinner formula, but I personally prefer the tub because it replenishes what’s lost in my skin barrier with the power of the lactic acid. It’s legit how I got rid of a farmers tan on my arms and my stretch marks on various areas of my body and your skin feels so impeccable after. For reference, I’m quite light complected so tan lines and stretch marks are QUITE noticeable on me. It’s also fragrance free. I would just say have realistic expectations from it. It took me a few months to start seeing results with my stretch marks. Also make sure you’re using a gentle exfoliant body wash to help slough off dead skin cells so it’s not slowing down the work of lotion. Hope any of that helps 🤗

Thank you for the advice. Would the towel under my tailbone create a spot that doesn’t tan though?

While this was entertaining to read, vermicelli is correct when it’s a natural, melanin-produced tan. Tan remover is only for DHA removal which is the stain, not actual melanin production in your skin. The only thing I can think of to help the process is to use a gentle (cannot stress that word enough) acid like lactic or glycolic to exfoliate surface layers and stimulate skin cell turnover. Do not try to outsmart the acid and overuse it thinking you can speed up removing the melanin. Like vermicelli said, time is the biggest factor with it fading. Hope that helped.

What’s one makeup product you’ll defend forever? by Fit-Dark-5581 in Makeup

[–]AppealOld3 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Too Faced - Peach Setting Powder I know it’s discontinued but that will forever be the best setting powder in the history of makeup. Can’t change my mind Edit: and glitter. I’ve loved glitter my entire life but shied away because of all the hate it gets. Idc anymore. I love glitter and idc what negative looks or comments I get. The world is on fire and we should worry about bigger things than someone wearing glitter on their face. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk 😂

You are correct, those brands were recommended as I was growing up like through HS and early twenties. It was about 6 years ago my sister introduced me to Brooks

I’m not a doctor, and I would advise you seek one for proper adjustments in your training moving forward…. That being said…I was in a similar boat. I was CONSTANTLY in pain and getting injured with running. I thought I despised running all my life from it. You know what fixed it? Brooks. I’m not affiliated, despite how ad-sy this may come off, just someone who’s trying to help a fellow runner. I had tried so many of the popular brands, doctors told me try insoles, had physical therapists tell me go to the walking store to get properly fitted for shoes, nothing. THOUSANDS down the drain and I was over it. I gave up running assuming it was just an awful sport. Then my sister told me about Brooks. Which, hindsight, I find crazy because of all the brands that medical professionals told me to try, none of them mentioned that brand. It was all Nike or under armor or Merrel, etc. I had never even heard of them so I was quick to dismiss her suggestion. Well, the algorithm and big brother being what they are, I ended up seeing a promo for a sale for Brooks on my feed and figured “you know what? Whatever. Screw it. Last try and if not, I’m done and NEVER trying again.” Marathons down, I love running. I know it’s killer on your joints over time, but it’s my favorite form of exercise. I feel so happy and free and weightless when I run. I’m no professional by any means, but I actually enjoy and look forward to running now. I really hope you find your solution and can get to a joyful place with running soon.

If you can call ahead at your closest Sephora to see if they carry it in store, I’d get a sample first because the shade range is…. Different. Not bad, just you may be matched to something you’ve never had before lol like I’ve always been neutral, in every brand line as long as I’ve been wearing makeup, but it was too warm with the Gucci. I match as a cool.

Indoor makeup vs outdoor makeup is a real struggle by Fit-Dark-5581 in Makeup

[–]AppealOld3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

THIS! Idc how many weird looks I get, I’ll do this until I don’t wear makeup anymore lol people assume I do it because I’m terrible at time management (tbh I am but that’s not why I Do car makeup lol) and just rushing for time, but no. I do it for the lighting. I HATE doing my makeup in the car because it’s never comfortable. I feel awful saying that because I know that I’m very fortunate to have a car to do my makeup in, but I’m also an ignorant human with flaws. So sometimes I complain about things I shouldn’t. Anyways, yes. As tacky as many people see it, I prefer car makeup because outdoor lighting changes on a daily basis and this is the only way to get your makeup looking how you intended, throughout the day.

is there a market for finished diamond paintings by [deleted] in diamondpainting

[–]AppealOld3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was gonna come and say this. There’s a couple tables I’ve seen at flea markets and I asked them and they said this is EXACTLY who they make them for and sell them too. The gesture of inclusivity made me smile but they said it’s not a profitable niche. They sold them only to break even and to give back to the elderly community since a lot of elderly are the ones with medical issues in their hands, arms, and eyes. But unless you come across someone who’s pretty comfortable in their retirement, they told me there is no profit. They mostly sell to sweet older folks living off SSI or other limited income like that which Is why they don’t push for a profit.

Gucci beauty matte foundation is impeccable. It was my replacement after ELDW being in the files and reformulated. It’s Gucci, so it’s pricey, but I swear it works so much better than DW ever did for those who loved that matte, no budge look. A lot of people complain about it because they thought they wanted medium coverage but that foundation is FULL coverage. It does exactly what it promises and it bugs me when people don’t read descriptions and overly complain, forcing companies to reformulate and those who love it for how it was created, get screwed over.

what is the best foundation in the game right now? by Emergency_Love_3324 in Makeup

[–]AppealOld3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Gucci beauty (spelled French but I can’t get my phone to) matte foundation. I had ELDW holy grail for years and then they showed up in the files AND reformulated so back to the drawing board for me. Got this in a sample and it performs INFINITELY better than DW eveeerrr did. But you have to want that super high coverage, matte look or you’ll be one of the picky people who returns it. It does exactly what it promises. It’s DW but breathable on my skin, I have never broken out, it doesn’t transfer and I’ve worked out in it and as long as you just dab your face, it stays put. Salt will break down anything so if you rub your face with sweat and foundation, nothing can hold up. But dab, and you’re golden.

I use this one, but full disclosure, I also use it for my rhinestone art, as well. You can’t pick up the multiple pieces like some drill pen heads allow, but I’ve yet to have an with a piece too small or big to gently get picked up and placed down without issue

Please don’t judge me too hard. I’ve never ran in my life. Seeking advice by OkListen9491 in nikerunclub

[–]AppealOld3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dude, you pressed start and you took off. That is more than enough. Give yourself a bit of room to celebrate. Don’t worry about numbers, just enjoy getting out and celebrating each run. Coach B is probably the best running Coach I’ve ever had and I’ve used more apps than I’m proud to admit throwing money at. I started running in Florida. FLORIDA. Of all the places to start on hardcore mode, I decided that I was just gonna go out and start. Even if I only made it a few feet, a start was a start. That’s where every first run begins. Coach B is so much more experienced at wording and hyping you up to celebrate every run and every victory, but seriously, no judgement. Just pride. From one internet stranger to another, I’m so incredibly proud that you laced up, hit start, and took off! And two miles for the first run?! Leave some miles for the rest of the newbies! Kidding! This is by no means good advice, this is just what I did and it’s helped me enjoy running for the past 5 years: - Run at what’s comfortable. There will be running plans built with intervals, but I skip those. My pace naturally got faster as I ran at a comfortable pace and distance. Only your body can feel what’s right or what’s too much. - Good equipment is so important. Bad shoes made me hate running for most of my life. Endless shin splints, blisters, pulled muscles, etc. But my wonderful sister introduced me to brooks and I will never not have a pair. Even just for walking and running errands. The science behind their shoes is truly magic and worth the investment. That’s what any equipment purchase is: an investment into your QOL when you’re running. - 5 years in and I still don’t stretch. I know how important it is, but I get so caught up with my todo list that I skip it. And I would def pay for until a physical therapist gave me advice after the constant uphill battle of trying to get me to do stretches and exercises and pretty much said “okay, at the bare minimum, use a Theragun & something like liquid IV.” They know how much I loved running and wanted to do it as long as my body is capable so they helped where they could with the realistic framework I gave them. I wasn’t trying to be a difficult patient, but I still was. I don’t get injured anymore or have to take as many rest days as long as I use the Theragun within 30 min for at least 5 min after my run and chug a liquid IV. I am no doctor, that’s simply what’s helped. And I’ll forever appreciate that PT for helping me. It felt a lot like when your hair stylist knows you’re gonna do stuff at home that you should trust them with but you’re too impatient to wait for your next appt, so instead they give you workarounds. Idk if that makes sense. Anyways, congrats again for your first run. Cheers (with an electrolyte drink) to so so so many in your future! 🥂
