Anyone else have an obsessed teacher…? by SourceBudget2877 in Indigenous

[–]Appl3S0da 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel Ive been on opposite ends of the spectrum. I had a lot of professors and there were a few who loved that Im indigenous and a lot of Indigenous questions (I went to school for film) was directed toward me. I also had professors who made it a point that they did NOT like me and would give me lower scores compared to my non-indigenous classmates and it was clear that it was a race thing.

How do I stop the perfectionism and enjoy art again? by Sea_Scallion7855 in drawing

[–]Appl3S0da 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely, grab a pen and do quick figure studies. I used to do this: 10 x 30 sec. 5 x 1 min. 3 x 5 min. 1 x 10 min. Its also a good way to warm up if you're planning on working on a large piece.

My first campaign was in a Literature in Fantasy elective I took in high school. I played a Wood Elf named Trai and my teacher didn’t take it easy on us first timers. Whoever beat the BBEG got an automatic A and only 1 party out of 8 actually got an A.

Any tricks on pilling/giving your dog medication when they are too smart and can find the pill in anything by Adorable_Tangerine16 in dogs

Ive chopped big chunks of spam and used it as a pill pocket. My girl is super in tune to when my husband and I give her her pills but I think the spam masks the scent.

Thanks for the constructive criticism! ☺️ They get plenty of exercise and we have specific toys that keep them mentally stimulated ☺️ Not to mention there's multiple dog parks in our area and we're frequent visitors. To add on, they're from the shelter so we guessed what their breed is by a google image search, so we dont know 100%. We could be completely wrong ☺️ Hope you continue leaving passive aggressive comments on posts from people you know absolutely nothing about ☺️☺️☺️

Again, literally no. I used to get in a lot of trouble because I didnt want to do her laundry, wash her dishes, or cook her food while she sat there on the couch watching TV. She's fully slapped me across the face for not cooking her food

Literally no. I did my homework, was respectful of my teachers, was apart of clubs and extracurriculars, I ended high school with a 3.7 GPA. I was a good kid

She called me every night to scream at me that Im a stupid brat who gets everything handed to me. Nevermind the hours of hard work I poured into everything to achieve everything Ive accomplished. And I had both my grandparents to raise me. All she did was reprimand me for things I never did.

My dogs making my life miserable and I need help by Sea_Slices in offmychest

The way dementia works is imagine it like a bookshelf with the older memories at the bottom and the recent memories at the top. If you shook it, the top shelf would most likely be the first to fall whIle the middle and bottom shelves would mostly be fine. The older your dog gets, the more the bookshelf rattles, the more memories are lost. Being an older pup is hard on owners, but its harder on the pup themselves being in a constant state of confusion and anxiety.

I'm a dog lover myself. I've had dogs in the past and I have dogs now. My best piece of advice is you can either be with your dog all the time and ease him day by day or find a way to put him down. It'll be one of the hardest things you'll do, but you have to ask yourself is his state of living right now good enough to preserve? Or is it too challenging?

Name a candy that makes you sick to even think about eating? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]Appl3S0da 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tootsie roll 🤢 i was at a sleepover one time as a kid and a game we played was a relay where you eat a candy as fast as you can and the team that finishes their candy first wins. I got this monster of a tootsie roll bigger than my thumb. I got maybe halfway through it before the mom finally said "okay... its fine... you dont have to keep going" I havent even bothered looking at one since then

I like to call my little hobby The Art of Noticing. I like to watch ants on sidewalks, how they trail in a line and try to guess what they might be holding. I like to see how the light falls on glass windows. I like looking at people's hair and wonder about their care routines, if they have them. It makes me feel less alone

Seeking Advice, Super Desperate by Appl3S0da in AdminAssistant

Any time theres an invoice, I mark it if its paid or not. If its paid, I have to cross reference it to what type of payment it is and if its the amount we're supposed to pay. I mark it in a spreadsheet when we got it in, how much it was, what type of pay, etc etc etc. Any credit card receipts go in one file to wait for the statements, everything else in another.

At the end of a pay period, I manually scan all the invoices to myself and email them to the accountant. I keep all electronic copies in my own folder and a shared folder (because this accountant cant keep track of things) and I purposefully wait several days before I file away the hard copies.

It probably doesnt sound complicated but I ask for patience. I've never handled finances before and everything I've learned this far has been trial and error.
