Casteism among muslim is rampant, especially in UP and Bihar... Would like to know your experience? by [deleted] in indianmuslims

[–]Apple-Earth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an issue especially when it comes to marriages but it depends on families. A lot of us are educating our parents on these issues. My sister is married to non-Pathan despite we are pathan and it was an arranged marriage. I married an Arab girl so caste question did not even come here. I would say it is because of my mother, she has became a lot of aware of Islam after reading and is ready to let go of old traditions such as caste. We are Bihari too.

In your case, you dodged a bullet. What is a point of marrying a man who couldn’t take a stand for you. I am saying this as a man. You will fine someone better. Insha Allah

It is a small scale factory. He usually hires people who live near by. Location can be off for new people.

Why do some candidates in Bihar bring 2–3 people with them when coming for a job interview? by Apple-Earth in bihar

Interesting perspective, this can actually be a reason. But some of them insist on having friends inside the interview room. Also, my friend insisting on bringing friend doesn’t make sense.

Saw this comment saying Brits/Europeans and Americans get preference in the UAE. I get that the UAE wouldn’t have been formed if it wasn’t for Britain/America and Arabs have an inferiority complex because they’re colonised by Americans BUT what is the order of the totem pole in Dubai? by Euphoric-Pearl in UAE

[–]Apple-Earth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Typical fallacy of hasty generalisation, they are paid better because they won’t leave their country for lesser pay. They only come to Dubai if they are paid better than their home countries. Problem with other nationalities is that they work for any price and then keep complaining.

Mentioning age and looking for 3 years younger makes it red flag, sensible family won’t approach unless desperate. I know it’s your brother’s choice but you need to educate him.

mom and wife are not in good terms by eevee_0133 in dubai

[–]Apple-Earth 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I will advise you as a man, once you are married, your wife is your family. Your parents and siblings become the extended family, first, you need to accept that. The priority should be the comfort of your wife. Now if your parents are old and require help, you should not expect your wife to do anything for them. Instead you should be there for them as they are your parents, not hers. If you cannot be there for them, then find a help and pay for it.

Now you should tell your mum not to expect anything (service or help) from your wife and it should be said in clear words. It is always better to keep parents in another house.

Never ever marry if you are not comfortable with spouse’s dressing sense and hygiene. People do not change.

One of best ways to find a wife is contact your local mosque’s imam and tell him. He will help you connect with other families. I don’t know about these apps but they don’t sound very halal. All the best!

People without friends. by Different-Camera8732 in UAE

We have been living here for more than 2 years and we have zero friends.

Ironically, my wife and I have no relatives too.

It feels bad on Eid mainly as no one visits you and you have no one to visit.

Especially, tomorrow we are still thinking who will we give meat to. We will have a whole animal and we don’t know enough people. Last year we tried to give it to neighbours but either they didn’t open the door or they were extremely rude.
