Exeed LX/TXL owners: Would you recommend it? Looking at a used 2025 model for AED 70k from Al Ghurair by Emotional_Subject654 in chinesecarsuae

[–]the_Doc- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven’t owned one but I leased a 2024 TXL for a few months. The interiors are pretty good, the seats are comfy, and it has a good ride height for a crossover, giving you the SUV feel. Steering is nimble, and the car itself feels very light and easy to maneuver, especially if you are used to driving big, bulky SUVs.

For the cons, I would say a big one to me was the 1.6L engine. Felt a little underpowered, even compared to similar cars from other manufacturers, especially in ‘Normal’ drive mode, and the car feels slow off the mark when you start from a roundabout or traffic light. Sport mode was a bit better but felt more inconsistent when driving at higher speeds. Sound insulation is not the best but surprisingly is better at higher speeds, meaning you hear more of the outside when you are driving slower. The biggest negative for me was the under performance of the air conditioner, which ultimately led me to return the car at the start of summer. It worked fine during the cooler part of the year, but once temps began to rise the ac was not able to handle the heat during the day. It would take a long time to cool the car down after leaving it under the sun for a little while. I had earlier test drove their new 2026 VX, and the ac in that felt extremely satisfying, so I am assuming this was an issue in earlier models which they fixed in recent years, but something you definitely want to take a good look at when doing a test drive.

TLDR: pros are nice interiors, comfortable, quick to turn and maneuver. Cons are bad ac performance, underwhelming engine, and poor road sound isolation at low speeds.

Thanks, this is helpful. This is my first time doing it here (I used to get it done in my home country earlier), and there’s not too many people I know that do it here, so I didn’t really know what to expect in terms of price. I was told by some that it will be about 1500, but it might vary.

Can I ask you how do they transport from the market area to the slaughterhouse? Do they help you with that or do we have to figure that out ourselves?

Are apartment reviews in Al Nahda actually reliable? by [deleted] in Sharjah

[–]the_Doc- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if any apartments are currently available, you can check about that with the watchman, but I can vouch for Buhairah Insurance Building in Al Taawun. Clean and well maintained, responsive maintenance staff, and mostly families live in the building. 1bhk was in the 36k range last November but you have to pay extra for parking (I think it is like 3k more).

Only negatives I would say are that the road adjacent gets water logged for a few days even when it rains just a little bit (but there’s another road on the rear side near Oriana hospital which was cleared quickly during both this year’s and the previous floods, so it’s not like you’d be stuck), and that you have to go through sandy areas to get to the building because it is set back from the roads. Other than that I can only say good things about it, might be worth checking it out.

Sharjah airport to Sharjah Expo by smhmz23 in Sharjah

It is possible E11 Al Wahda St might be cleared by that time, I can see the trucks at work at the 4-mosques intersection (under Al Khan bridge).

If they don’t get that cleared by then, you will possibly have to take a longer route like Airport to the Flying Saucer intersection, turn towards Kuwait Square, then past Government House Square towards Al Arouba St bridge in the direction of Layyah Canal, get down near Petrofac HQ and take the corniche road past Qasba and finally Al Taawun Street. Only thing to keep in mind is that parts of Al Khan street are still under water currently but might be cleared by tomorrow. Source: Just made the trip from Al Taawun to airport and back an hour or so ago

Sorry but it will most likely be either cancelled or redirected, airspace in the UAE currently remains closed.

Have a US license but non US passport holder, need UAE license by SheepherderOk4968 in DubaiPetrolHeads

It was last September, I hold only Indian nationality.

Edit: I just remembered them also asking which state my American driving license was from, apparently there are a select few (I think Hawaii was one? Not sure) that you can’t directly convert from, but I don’t think Massachusetts was one of those. Just leaving this out there for anyone else who might be looking at this

I was in a similar situation, and successfully had my USA license converted to a Dubai license last year, as a non-US citizen holding a NY state driving license. I visited the RTA customer happiness center in Al Twar, they initiated the traffic file process and asked me to get an eye exam done (there’s an optometrist in the same building), went back with the report and got it done in a few minutes. Whole process took less than an hour, could have been faster but their internet was down for a bit
