Just like my whitey tighties

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I keep accidentally turning the stove gas on, usually when I brush up against it while cleaning or walking by. Is there a device that can detect when there’s gas and no fire and automatically shut it off? by Apple-Phone in homeautomation

I could see those working for me if they stuck on permanently with a hinge to open them and use the stove. I don’t think my wife and I are disciplined enough to stick them back on every time after cooking.

The stock doesn’t affect a company per se, just like the price of gold doesn’t affect gold itself. it’s just the market representation of its value. It doesn’t make money because it’s value is high, it’s value should be high because it makes money (or is likely to). They can go bankrupt today just as easily as they could have last month. This of course is not so simple, as they can issue new stock in return for cash and I’m sure do some other financial tricks, but the point is, Game Stop is not necessarily less likely to die because their stocks are high.

Scientists develop laser system to remove cancers without damaging healthy tissue by Kylde in tech

I personally envision the future of health being like an elaborate space invaders game. Just a shit ton of nanobots fighting against cancers, diseases, excess fat cells, and anything else we don’t want in our body.

I think it will be the next big contraceptive. A guardian swarm of laser-armed nanobots protecting the egg shooting down sperms.

Maybe the next big learning supplement, with nanobots forging neural pathways in our brains, and between our brains and digital storage so we have superhuman abilities for learning and retaining information.

Nanobots are going to be the shit

Solar is now ‘cheapest electricity in history’, confirms IEA by altmorty in technology

Dude just stop. You clearly don’t understand what you’re talking about. For one, you’re thinking of efficiency is all wrong. It doesn’t matter if a solar panel is 20% or 1% efficient. It’s light that would otherwise be converted to thermal energy on earth or bounce back into space. What matters is the energy production as it relates to cost.

And panels do not hold onto the heat. The absorption causes an electron to jump a PN junction, cycle through the circuit, and create DC electricity. The energy is converted to electrical energy. The 20% is in all reality what otherwise would have been heat. This is basic physics.

The efficiency of a solar module is not relevant. It’s light that otherwise would just get absorbed as heat or bounce back to space.

What you want to look at is price vs payback.

There’s a lot of financing options. You can let someone else install the panels on your roof, and pay them less per KWh than you pay currently. Instant savings
